I may be in trouble with "The Usual Suspects"
« on: September 06, 2012, 11:27:11 pm »

I hope my sense of humour hasn't got me in trouble. About the time that I had to suspend my activities on here, the ccc looked interesting. It was something to do with ne'er-do-wells. I remember that at the time I thought there was an obvious set of placeables for it, but I just didn't have the time...

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I have made that small set of placeables and put them in my public folder on dropbox which is here. There are only 15 placeables in the hak and they look a lot better in game than in the toolset.

So what have I done? I'm not telling. At 445k it's no humungus download and you never know, you may end up smiling. Because I want it to be a surprise there is none of my usual documentation. The 7Zip archive contains the hak, an erf and a tiny demo module.

Please make my day by downloading and installing it, play the demo and comment here. Pretty please. You never know, you just might be a "Usual Suspect".'<img'>

Once I hit Rolo Kipp's avatar on the poster, I busted up laughing. Well done!

Yeah, Rolo's was great! I didn't quite recognize a couple of them to the North, but my new Keyser Söze character didn't mind. 'B)'

OK, Little secret. There's me, 12 "Usual Suspects" and 2 fillers. The question is can you name the usual suspects on there?

               Great idea! '<img'>

*SPOILERS*

I recognized Bannor Bloodfist, yourself, QSW, Mistress aka The Spirited Lass, Rolo Kipp, Borden Haelven, Six, and then the avatar used by both kookoo and jml, and possibly my own one.

Dang, sure wish I could see these... no nwn on this laptop at all, no archivers to extract files, and this laptop doesn't belong to me so I can't install anything...

Damn teasers... it is going to be what looks like another 2.5 months before I get to go back home... Surgery may or may not be scheduled for 3 weeks from now, depending on next weeks review by the wound care center, then 4-6 weeks recovery from 1st one, followed by final skin graft(s) (3 of them) and another 4-6 weeks of recovery... hopefully, I will be able to do some of that under home care nursing instead of being locked up in this nursing facility for that much longer.

Not sure if I'm one yet, but i volunteer for a cameo spot if you ever need a good RP villain!

I remember hospital humor, or in old-school lexicon "gallows humor" ...

(if you visit the terminal wards, ICU and the like, you know what i mean).

Don't worry about offending, just get well soon, and keep up the jesting, as laughter is truly the best medicine '<img'>

Yeah, I'm still alive, just not that involved in NWN at the moment, heh. How are your module projects coming along? '<img'>

Just because I wanted to make teasers, I didn't include any documentation. This means that I wasn't able to give credit to the people who's resources I used. I'll rectify that now in this reply.

First the paper that the poster's are "printed" on:-

hibbary's Torn-edge paper packet Part 1 and hibbary's Torn-edge paper packet Part 2

Then there are the 3 fonts that I used:-

Bleeding Cowboys Font, Panhead Font and Shotgun Wedding Font

Finally there are the grunge brushes that I used to make the posters look weather-beaten:-

obsidian dawn grunge brushes

Anyway, I hope this helps.

I love IG-hints towards "reality"! This idea made me grin.
Besides those mentioned, I'd say, left of Six is Zwerkules.
Just a sidenote: Borden is not really missing atm! '<img'>
Great job! Thanks for making me smile!
P.S. Get well, too, Bannor!

Let's see, which ones are still missing? I think I saw Lightfoot8, Tyndrel, and HipMaestro. This is really cool, TR; great job!

Like 'em. Thanks for the links too they're a good idea.
@ Bannor: Have you thought about portable apps on a portable 2.5" hard drive that you can run on the laptop without installing? portableapps.com/ They may run a little slow but it can be a real help at times.
