Are those animated potions your own work?

I use some of the content from DOA for my floor items, but do not recall ever seeing animated potion bottles. (So I use ben harrison's alchemy placeables instead.... but still I like those animations you have there.)

Nice work, though the armour is a bit low poly and could use smoother edges. The gloves, boots and cloak especially could use better models because they are hardly recognizable as what they are.

The blubbering potions are just cool (you did them for the ultima mod right?) and I need some cool potions for an alchemist in my module. Now that I think about it Carcerian can you add a very small smoke effect to them too? Imagine a small alchemist´s laboratory totally smoky and smelly and you have to make a con check on entering to see if you go all hazy... '<img'>

Keep it up:)
p.s. i agree with zwerkules on some models, they are realy kind a hard to picture;)

pp.s. I would gladly help you with the potions vfx if you want

FYI - the models that you are giving critique on are by DOA. The certainly could be improved, but I don't believe that is Carcerian's art.

Yeah, DOA released them around 2004 i think. And with todays content we can easily replace them with better models if you dont mind because The pakage itself is very usefull;)

Did our metal bars make it into Q yet pste? I was really looking forward to using them (in placeable form as well) in my module, but I can't find them in 1.5 '<img'>

Placeable forms of item models are a great idea, anyway. They're much more applicable that way (it's pretty seldom that raw items get placed on the ground when you think about it).

I've only used placeable forms of items in particular instances, lamps and candles for example when dropped (a hook in the unacquire event) convert into a placeable that emits light. Then when "used" they are transformed into an item and picked up by the PC.

What other tricks have you come up with, Six?

EDITED again: I added a smoke vfx depending on the potions color and can be turned on/off. The bottle meshs are tweaked and retextured. Almost completed!

And I´m getting it slowly

Looking very nice, Baba, can't wait to see when done!

Yes, all the items are unmodified DOA items... (tho im thinking of recoloring ones like keys, amulets, rings, etc, so will see about adding new armor and boots, cloth armor as well)

The potions use the DOA potion bottle, and my old plasma textures as well.  They are similar to the Ultima ones (both used DOA as a base), but these are partially animated/part solid, as opposed to the entire potion animated as with the older "Ultima" ones I made a few years ago. (I just used slice plane, clone, and deleted the top or bottom of the two different objects '<img'>) I do have more "ultima" looking potion bottles that are round at the bottom, i just made these ones as a test.

'Image

The empty "glass" one uses c_diamond, so if you want different glass colors you can use the other built in DLA gemstone colors c_amethyst, c_emerald, c_ruby, c_sapphire, c_topaz as well...

The pack also actually includes 3 unused plasma textures as well, that could be used for additional colors...

As for some other ideas, bubbling/sparkling/tiny skulls/ghostfaces/etc emitting from some potions might look cool too...
(tho perhaps a bit cartoony)

'Image

The other idea i wanted to try was slice plane middle of model's front/back (or band) for antique style labels.

I like the idea having an old label on them like the wormwood one. Will try to make the bottles a little bit more antique looking anyway. For the empty bottle i used a tni02_barrel texture part and made the mesh a little bit transparent. And not every bottle with have a colored smoke vfx, that might end up looking to walt disney like... '<img'>
