               Different 2das have different rules for how Neverwinter handles them...

(Such how you can change them, as well as what ones you need to place in a hak, or in the server or client overrides to work, etc..)

What 2da's in specific do you need help with first?

               Well i want to add the last weapons ones and some bandages from another monthly challenge....For now those..
The stuff below is what i use now but never edited 2das.

This post is updated with the correct current haks.





This first hak is for your TLK folder.
Take the Cep21_1.7 tlk and place it in your tlk folder.If you dont have a folder called tlk create one called tlk and place it ON THE SAME PAGE you see your hak folder.You should then see the tlk folder in the list along with the hak folder.

Cicking the link below will ask you to download a tool called 7zip.IT IS REQUIRED for the opening of the four files because they were larger then nwn could package.So this tool creates the hak explained further down.

With the program 7 zip downloaded and those four haks above completely downloaded scroll with your pointer over in to mirk16.7z.001 and right click then you will see 7zip scroll so it opens the list and hit extract here.It will create  the

~mirkv16.hak 

Place the ~mirkv16.hak into your hak folder and go to the next step.

When finished downloading wildwoods 07.7z  Right click on wildwoods 07.7z. File and extract file here.This will create  the ~wildwoods.hak .Place the ~wildwoods.hak into your hak folder and go to the next step.

The haks you need are loacated in the folder you download.
Take the haks out useing 7zip.
Right click on the file and hit extract here.
It will create a file that ends in .hak
Place all those that end in .hak in your hak folder.

First off, is this for a PW or a single-player project?

               I have never tried any of the 2da editors, as I just use windows notepad.

               Erm... if you give me an example of what you're trying to do (eg add a placeable to a 2da or something) then I can totally do a mini guide for you, but 2das are really varied so you'd have to be a tiny bit specific (is it an item or placeable, are you trying to add one or edit an existing one, etc).

One tool I'd suggest if you've never modified 2das before is TLKEdit, though, it really makes everything a bit easier to grasp.

EDIT: Actually I'm not even sure if just editing 2das would work for the things you listed, they have model names that match their entry too. :x

               I already have those haks in the mod.im wanting to add a few custom content packages to the mod.Ive downloaded the TLKEDIT but theres no instructions i see a bunch of buttons with the program 2da patcher open.So i have no idea what to do.

               TLK-edit edits Talk Tables, a different thing...

Ok assuming your current setup works for you (why fix what isn't broken).

As the vault page lists:

baseitems - new weapon type added on line 213.
parts_bicep – new parts added on lines 100 and 101.
parts_chest – new parts added on lines 100 and 101.
parts_forearm – new parts added on lines 100 and 101.

First, export each 2da file from your top cep hak, and open each in notepad (just associate it with 2da files) and change the lines as indicated on the vault page instructions under "Technical details":

For Rubies Surgical Weapons, add the following line to BaseItems.2da as line 510:

510         496    specialized         1              1               0x00010          0               0           WSaHu         0                1             ****          ****          it_bag          iwthsh        0           ****          1            2            ****           1.2              0          50         1         6           2            2             1          10         1          2                ****          8              8          0          0            1            ****       ****       ****       ****       ****       4            0        0               5410              0                 1                30         1               ****             ****          ****                 35            35            65            19               1

(or after whatever your last line is, changing line number as needed)


For wounded body parts:

In parts_bicep.2da replace lines 100 and 101 with:

100  0             0.94    
101  0             0.95    

In parts_chest.2da replace lines 100 and 101 with:

100  0             0.01    
101  0             0.02  

In parts_forearm.2da replace lines 100 and 101 with:

100  0             0.94    
101  0             0.95    

  You want to make a "top" Hak file placed in first in order (to override all others) to hold 2das and any other info files.

               just a quick question is the cep still going to be the same holding these new 2das.In other words a player with cep2.1 will still be able to join and not need this new version?

Am i doing this in notepad?

Which cep file cep top 2.1?
