i have this vision for so long and this image is just beatifull. Maybe i can create something similar when the base terrains are done. Another method would be using a forest tileset and add a cavecrosser and/ or group to the cliffs. So you can basically cave in and house in a cave in a forest w/o changing the map:) Lovely idea to start your everyday adventuring from your cool forestcave with a view down below

You might be able to pull off such a thing with a single group in this set as a special kind of exit. Or as a special cave entry group in an exterior tileset.
Zwerkules did something similar with a group for the rogue community challenge.

I guess it would be better to add the caves to a forest or rural tileset than adding part of a forest to the cave tileset. You'd need lots of extra textures for leaves and grass and so on if you added that to a cave, while you'd only need a couple of rock textures if you added a cave to a forest tileset which probably already used some rock textures for cliffs anyway. You might also need a different grass texture for the caves which wouldn't work for the forest or rural tileset while the grass of the rural tileset might still grow at a cave entrance.

eye doing the opposite is easier, but i dont see how much can it differs from the standard cave entrance tiles with faded to black stone texture, after all down there is darkness!! the real thrill is looking up to the sky and seeing it change from day to night, while you're still in the cave network '<img'>

also, using a skybox "window" allows to cut the texture need to just 4 (day/daynight/night/nightday) for each single skybox (that can be a panorama, imagine desert one, forest one, city one, etc etc

Some progress on the connectivity for the grotto and the whole set as well. That brown colored thing in the back is a big cave...

Never thought I would get excited about a cave tileset (unless it was something like this: http://tolkiengatewa...littering_Caves) , but this looks great - can't wait to build something with this. Thanks for putting it together!

Baba Yaga has my permission to use the gnome homes, if he likes. Though Lord of Worms might already have combined them with tiles made from Baba's spider caves tileset and other cave tiles for his PW.

               Nice.

Although I'd be happier if BY focused more on the natural side of these caves if I'm honest. I think Zwerk's gnome homes work well enough in his own caves set.

Thank you in advance Zwerkules '<img'> . But to be realistic I cant work on anything other then as to complete the basic terrains (cave, great cave, grotto and pit) + the mine and cave crossers. IT´s realy a big load of work to give everytile and everthing the right look. Especially with the new pits i have in mind... oh and the raise/ lower feature uhu.

And man i hate to walkmesh my tiles.... you down with me;) Ok. But dont worry It all comes together step by step and i will keep you updated.

Damn, I was hoping for a goblin town add on in these awesome caves. I suppose I'll eventually have to take on a CC project myself in order to get exactly what I want. '<img'>

Anway, carry on. Great looking stuff.

More progress on the (more underdark like environment) set with the new pit variation (wip)...

In the end this tileset seems to become a direct connection to my spider caves. comments or suggestions are welcome as always;)

With the lighting.. are you allowing the tiles to go completely dark if you set everything to black?

-- oh ... I should never neglect to mention that this is awesome work. Beautiful!
