there is a fox in the Nordic Animals.. but could always use some improvement.

The insect swarm VFX has always been on my want list for insect swarm spells, for traveling in a swamp, or to attach to the "fly-ridden plague victim corpses" from the OC. Not a fly to be found on them!

With project Q we got skinmeshed wolves... maybe something similar for other dog types? e.g. the hounds in skyrim?

Ultima 7 used "Flight of the Bumblebee" as well '<img'>

My favorite version is of course by the fastest "Hyper-Metal" guiatarist of all time, "The Great-Kat" :

Wasn't sure if the base tileset was the stock Vanilla one or one of the ones that had been modified to have the pit and lava terrain

Looking swank all the same. I'd almost consider an idea would be to modify the wall crystals and put bees in them, to make them look like cocoons, but I don't know how far you want to go with changing it all up

we have fish.. maybe ones that jump out of the water to indicate a fishing spot?
There's already a birdcage model, maybe a variant with birds inside?

I really like the jumping fish to mark the spot idea :-)
And the canary to test for gas isn't bad, either

@ Carcerian: I like the tileset ;-) I'm an amateur beekeeper (without bees for the time) though I prefer the more natural Warre hives. If you are thinking of doing a tile/placeable of the outside/entrance, I would refer you to:

http://lh4.ggpht.com...Rfec4E32f3=s580

The layered structure of hives is the salient point.

@ Klatchain: Yes. We need honey bees to compliment the CODI & Project Q wasps (which actually look like hornets, to me :-P)

@ Shemsu: I like both those ideas :-) That wereshark is wicked!

@ ShadoOow: It is my hope to later expand the giant dragonfly to a mount for pixies :-) Partly because I love Rubies but mostly because both the feral pixie tribes (mounted archers) and the beetle-armored pixie knights have a place on Amethyst. Size is *not* an indication of threat!
And I agree, those pack-badgers are great ;-)

There are a few fox models, but, as Hekaton pointed out, there are in serious need of re-modeling. As my business is named Foxhaven Designs you might guess I am very interested in this.

@ ShadowM: Cestus is (I am) working on the Sapphire & Rubie, er Ruby giant dragonflies. I am currently concentrating on the wings, as I have a special and (I hope) spectacular conception of using the gem textures with .txi to make the dragonflies appropriate for figurines of power. (item models would come later). I was planning on modifying the Project Q Wasp to for the rest of it, as the animations are mostly in the ball-park, though I had to scale it up considerably.

I'd love it if you want to collaborate on this, though. You concentrate on the body & adjusting anims and do the body tex and I do the wings? The wings are 120cm x 30cm giving a wingspan of around 2.5 meters. Sound like something you want to do?

@ Carcerian: Ever heard of the Spike Jones Laughing Record? It is said that no one, no matter how gloomy, can listen to them trying to play Flight of the Bumblebee without cracking a smile. :-)

Loving all this goodness, guys :-)

                <slipping into...>

@ Carcerian: A little more time and a little more thought on the Beehive tileset. (note: this idea could really add to the creepy factor of other tilesets as well).

Give some of the walls that layered look to give narrow cracks that bees could crawl into but people can't fit. Put a fade-to-black plane at the back so you don't have to actually model it too deeply. Then, and here it get's tricky, you animate certain tiles... with bees. We can't really get creatures walking on the walls (ceilings), but you could have a tile with bee objects attached that crawl out of one crack and into another. The bees would not be targetable, but think of the atmosphere with a dozen giant insects crawling about above you...

Something similar could be done with demon-infested or giger-ish tilesets to have something animated on anim1 and/or anim2 per tile ooze out of the wall, travel in weird directions and seep back out of view.

Edit: Hell, just animate a quick, lovecraftian shadow to flicker across some surface and vanish. Goosebumps! :-)

I've uploaded the Animal growth spell into the CC Project.

The spell will enlarge subject animal, granting +8str, +4con, -2dex, +2ac, +4saves and 10/+1DR (and thus +1piercing attack)

Spell is somewhat limited, it works only on all animals from canilla NWN so far, cannot be used on non-animal target, neither on animal PC or anyone polymorphed into animal. Spell doesn't stack, can be used only once.

Remarks:

TODO:
- unique icon would be nice
- casting anims could be changed, current setup is copied from Awaken spell
- creature size doesn't changes - so far I haven't considered it to be important enough to create heavy workarounds for that effect

Known issues:
- animal doesn't animate itself after enlargement until some action is needed from it (like attack enemy)
- the size/appearance restoration doesn't work perfectly "on the time" when the effect was removed, instead after couple of seconds
- probably doesn't work properly on animals already using invisible creature/tail feature to raise their size
- (greater) Restoration will remove all spell's effects
- dexterity penalty doesn't work if subject animal have immunity to ability damage

               Some more suggestions:

#1: dire panther!
#2: tree tiles into forest/jungle tileset with walkable platform (i dont mean an wooden platform, rather small invisible one on the branches) in their treetop to allow place an creature to sit there, creature like ape that will throw bananas on PC
#3: what about magical beasts? should also suffice into this theme - is there a griffon, hydra?

I'll try to find time to script the cargo loading on animal companions, but cannot promise.

Or a place birds can perch and scold passers-by? Good idea. Builders can always work a transition to the arboreal covert with their climbing/jumping system...

Cool :-)

Thumbs up, especially #2. I'd love to see that in any tileset where you can put a large 'climable' tree. Other uses include ambushes and escaping wolves etc.  You don't really need much 'legroom' - for example the crow's nest on the carrack ship is really quite small, yet I stil managed to make it accessible via transitions etc.
