Neon Trees
« on: February 15, 2012, 10:38:31 am »

               Hey guys,

I've been playing NWN recently and I installed the NWNCQ Project. I've come across funky, neon looking trees:  http://i.imgur.com/xAsKb.jpg

Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it?

PS: I'm using the Bioware Rural Trees Override.

Thanks!

Your link doesn't work. I get a 'Forbidden' error. Is the image set to private?

Usually, neon or rainbow graphics are caused by GPU faults.
Project Q uses higher quality stuff than most NWN material.

Either:
You installed it wrong and you're missing something.
The download was corrupted and one of haks is bad.
Your GPU can't handle NWNCQ quality.
You don't have NWN set up to use high quality textures.
You have some odd variable set in an ini or something that I don't know about.

From your your screenshot, it either looks like those objects are missing textures or they were intended to be transparent but were somehow set incorrectly. I don't use those packages so I can't offer up anything more, unfortunately.  The blue color you're seeing on them is probably just lights from nearby tiles.

               Odd...
Am I the only one that gets "403 - Forbidden" when I follow that link?

No, it's because the original link didn't have http: in front of it, I think.  You should be able to click on my link and view the picture, no?  This website does weird things to formatting sometimes.

               Aha.
Works when I add www. in front of it...
Your link broke too. '<img'>

Anyway...

Yep. That's a missing error issue. Not your GPU.
Either you're missing a hak, got a corrupt hak, or you're not set up to use high quality textures.

It was indeed a missing/corrupt HAK error. That's what you get for downloading when the internet is being intermittent. Thanks a lot guys!
