My first response was, honestly, "Uggh". But, except for a couple caveats, I'm for it.
First, The CCC has the requirement that everything must work in game without additional haks. This means you'd have to clear the use of any CEP material with whoever is running it (edit: and extract it). That part's on you and I don't know why there would be any problem, but it's something to keep in mind.
Second, CCC content is supposed to be original. I truly *encourage* derivative work such as re-skinning or modifying existing, previously released stuff. But it's supposed to be something new. If you were going to do that, there'd be no doubt in my mind at all that it was cool :-)
But then, if you were going to do that you wouldn't be asking such a thorny question :-P
So now let me add a caveat to my caveat - as I said to Zwerk and as I've said to others, The CCC is a fantastic *volunteer* program and flexibility is key. Not only is it terribly easy to drive people away, but it's horribly easy to mute the "Fun" button :-(
I think *minor* use of previously released content, so long as credit is given and permission asked, should not only be permitted, but encouraged. It gives secondary exposure to material that we obviously (if we want to use it again) like and it doesn't hurt the spirit of the CCC much. It might even invigorate the "market", so to speak.
That said, we come to my "Uggh". I was bit once (pretty hard) by some really nice CEP content. The last thing I want is a "cease and desist" order from Blizzard Ent. Uggh.
*phew!* Got it all out :-) Those are my *opinions* and certainly not in anyway a "ruling" or anything. I'll be damned before I'll become a martinet :-P
So now I can sit back, relax and watch the flames :-)
