Creature clipping radius
« on: January 30, 2012, 01:00:57 am »

I'm dabbling in making my own creatures and have a newbie question: how do I modify the creature's clipping radius and the box size that appears around the creature when selected in the toolset? Thanks!

See the PERSPACE column in appearance.2da.  See also: CREPERSPACE, HITDIST, PREFATCKDIST in the CCG or the Omnibus.

and the box size that appears around the creature when selected in the toolset? Thanks!

The size of the box that appears around a creature in the toolset is just a vague visual indicator to help you place it.  It does not, for instance, indicate some value (like any of the ones in appearance.2da) used by the game.  For instance, depending on how your creature is posed (arms out in a T-shape versus arms down by its side), the bounding box will be a different size.  If your creature is composed mostly of a tail model, you might find the bounding box only to be as big as all the non-tail geometry, i.e. really small.  Again, it's just a visual indicator and not representative of game mechanics or settings.
