               Totally cool snowshoes ^^

@rubies: i like those spheres. is it possible to have those in a smaller size too, to include in a wizard lab or on a desk?

At the moment they're creatures, but I'll create some placeable versions of them for that kind of thing. Thanks for the suggestion! '<img'>

Wow, incredible work and creativity on display in this thread!  I love this game...  How can you not love a game where users have this much control over remaking the game world?

files sent in today for the Mounts. This is a Snow Beast that I have been working on, the texture is awful so I may try and work on it more. If I can get it to look better I may submit it to.

I've got the snow flurry aura working in game with animated texture of snow falling and swirling.
This screenshot gives scale (same radius as Dragon Fear).

It is much more impressive in motion, but the "self illumination" isn't on, so the snow looks dark.
Also, the aura needs to be taller. But then, I'm not done yet :-P

Now I've got them eyes where I want them, save only that they up and vanish if the camera is outside the snow-aura.  It's lookin' like ye can nae see one effect inside another. Least-wise, not with any bit o' tinkerin' *I* could manage this week past :-P

Gives new meanin' ta "Close enow ta see tha whites o' tha eyes"!
(within 10 meters... pretty darn close fer such a big beastie!)

Other random suggestions for the month:

Replacement for fx_snow.mdl (the effect for the falling snow)

Replacement effect for var_dragcold.mdl and var_conecold.mdl (the breath effects for dragons and the cone of cold/winter wolf breath effects)   Maybe something similar to the mist dragon effect?

Those snowshoes are fantastic.  Any chance for some wearable ones?

               @3RavensMore
Check page 2 of this thread.
Looks like the chances of wearable ones are high, '<img'>

                *yawning and stretching and smiling*

What a nice long winter's nap! '<img'>

Anyway, I have done the basics of my Snow Mogul barricades. The texture works moderately well (though you can't see the icicle or stone parts yet) and the PWK works in game the way I want...

'Posted

These are just placeholders for now, I'm still working on the models.

Here's what I said in my readme...
These three barricades are designed to fit together and work with both the walls and cliffs of the rural winter tileset.

plc_mogulris: A snow mogul riser designed to pile up against a cliff wall.
plc_mogulcen: A snow mogul designed to stand alone or with the others in the center of a passage.
plc_moguldwn: A snow mogul downer designed to hang over the edge of a cliff (with icicles).

Each mogul can be adjusted enough to either completely block a single tile passage or to leave a gap large enough for passage (creature would wade through snow in the gap).

In a canyon, put risers to left and right and center piece in the middle.
On a ledge, put riser against the wall, downer over the edge and center in the middle.
On a raised path, put downers to either side and the center in the middle.

Or leave the middle empty to merely constrict the passage and provide a tactical bottleneck.

Ciao!

I really, REALLY like this!  We need more things along these lines, to "spoof" area limitations, without it looking like obvious limitations...

Reminder bump that the file deadline is tomorrow morning.  I'll most likely sleep in until 10 am.  That gives y'all 2 extra hours. '<img'>
