               Contribution Status: Progressing

I've gotten my foot models made with the attached snowshoes for a standard human male (pmh0_), and they work in-game as intended!  My first ever body/armor part.

Here's the first preview screenshots.  They do not change color with the armor colors, since they rely on the trick discovered by Old Time Radio for attaching a tga'd piece to a body part.  Both the wood and webbing curve up slightly in the front.  These do sit rather low, so ground that isn't really flat may clip through the webbing, but otherwise these look good in both the winter rural and icy wastes tiles.

Once I finish with the copy/scaling for the other races and genders (using NWN Armory for the first time), I plan on also making a misc. medium inventory item (icon and 3D model for when dropped) and one or two placeable versions of these for decorating areas.

For those still looking for ideas, here's a few off the top of my head:
- a fur-lined hood with scarf-covered face helm model
- thick leather mitten hands
- an igloo placeable
- a dog sled placeable
- a snow fort placeable
- child NPC models in winter clothing
- various snow sculpture placeables
- a sleigh placeable (more realistic, not Santa's)
- a tobagan placeable
- an icicle placeable that slowly drips water (like it's just forming or is melting)
- a white dragon's nest placeable
- wooden ski placeables (ski foot parts wouldn't look right when walking/running)
- a small placeable mug with hot chocolate and marshmallows
- a script that causes outdoor areas to change to snowfall during specific months of the game year
- an alteration to the shapechange script so that the caster turns into a white dragon during winter instead of a red (keep most stats the same)
- an alteration to summoning scripts to change water elemetals to some sort of icy golem appearance (right after summoning) during winter times or in cold areas.

               AD - those are awesome.

I was wondering though is it also possible to use aligned feet VFX for footwear? '<img'>

I wish.  Unfortunately, the only places you can actually align VFX are the head node (in the head) and the impact node (in the chest/torso).

If I get the chance, I'll throw together some models of those frozen books. Those snowshoes are really cool, I like those!

I'm having a small issue with the shadows on my Freezing Sphere.  The outer (animated) sphere blocks shadows due to its additive blending. I assume this isn't really an issue I can fix, but just in case, it's worth posting up.

Nice AD and everyone else. Those snowshoes are very cool. I suppose one could make large snow placeables that don't block movement, but with triggers that slow movement when in the snow.
Then, one could make a snowshoe pheno that simply elevates the height to the snow's surface, and switch the pheno if snowshoes are equipped. Or if you an elf. '<img'>

Anyone capable of making a slipping on ice and falling down animation? Always marvelled at my PC's uncanny ability to stay upright... A short one-legged slide followed by a fall would look good.

Threw together a quick Flaming (well... fire-ish) Sphere model based on the Freezing Sphere, but without the emitters and a lazier method of mapping. Going to add some emitters to it, but I'm not sure if I should submit that one, as it's not very winter-y (though I suppose a Wizard could do with a nice ball of fire to last those long winter nights)!                It would be very handy in winter. Roll it down the sidewalk and melt away all the snow!

Those are gorgeous!
Now I just happen to have Gloves of Supreme Elemental Heat Resistance and their Cold twin... So I'll just roll one of them Sun Spheres into my hearth and on of them Superfrosty spheres into the alehouse...

Just in case, I put together two more with animated outer spheres and movement emitters attached. Probably not really noticable from screenshots, but I'll put one in anyway because the low-quality video doesn't show off the new textures too much. I'll let our dear old Mistress pick which one gets used, or I can bundle both - I'm not sure just yet! '<img'>

And I should really stop messing with these now. :innocent:

Files sent in a day ago.  Here's the last two preview pics.

In addition to the snowshoe feet (for all standard races and the two regular phenotypes), I've included 3 placeables (single snowshoe on ground, single snowshoe propped up for against walls and such, and a pair that are overlapping on the ground) and a miscellaneous medium inventory item (with both an icon and matching model for when dropped on the ground).

I'm looking forward to what everyone else comes up with.
