Draygoth28 - Great idea!  Don't forget their portraits.  *winks*

Tarot Redhand - Sheesh man, that WAS fast!

This month I'm pondering doing loadscreens.  Since we have plenty of snow now.  *grumbles*  I'll try and take some pictures over the weekend to turn into loadscreens.  Yes, I know, some people don't like photographed images.  I'll look on the web for some non-photo images to work from as well.

Or you could try editing them to make them look like they have been drawn. PS. can you post the screenies I sent you so people can see how speed doesn't necessarily equate with quality ('^_^'). I let others decide.

A while back I needed a winter rural type placeable to block a few pathways on a map.  So I took a dirt placeable (that I think might have been originally made by Tom Banjo?) and swapped out the texture file for one from the winter rural tileset.  Thinking that would work.  *falls over laughing*  Wow did it look HORRIBLE in game.  The color was off the lighting/reflections looked hideous.

Anyone interested in making a similiar path blocking mound of snow (for the standard winter rural tileset) for this month's challenge?

               Right.

I'll be conjuring up a foggy breath effect and a snow-flurry that will probably be creature-based (which means a blizzard elemental wouldn't be too far from possible).

So:
1) Foggy Breath, Effect, A cycling puff of fog for warm-blooded, breathing creatures in winter.
2) Snow Flurry, creature, A blinding flurry of snowflakes.
3) (possible) Blizzard Elemental, creature, An elemental creature of blinding snow and sub-zero temperatures.

If anyone wants any scripted joy to make their submission shine... or freeze, let me know.
Every now and then, I've been known to spontaneously generate rather complex systems.
I'm open to requests big or small (Which may or may not involve your submission).

Oh DARN the snow is melting too much here to take any decent pictures.  I am totally NOT sad about that.  *grins*  So I looked on wikicommons and found some nice images.

Something just about my speed ''

I'll do this. But I think I gotta think of a way to make it special!

Chill!

Feel like making an interesting AI for a Blizzard Elemental?
Immune to normal weapons, cold & electrical, reduced damage from other elements, triple damage from fire (including torches?!)...Whatever makes sense?

Only attacks are cold and blindness?

Moves slowly, mostly in a straight line... unless it attacks, then it circles constantly until...?

Open to ideas :-)

Cestus & I are only going to be modeling the creature (which will be mostly effects - small perspace, huge volume of effect) .

I'd be more worried about the blizzard blowing my torch out. I suppose the torch could damage it until the torch died...

I'll see what I can come up with.
If you guys have any stable versions I can test with, feel free to send it to me. It'll help me make everything make sense if I can see the area effect.
Related question...
How big is this blizzard effect, exactly?
The cold and blindness will only happen if you're in the blizzard area, and the damage will be modified by what you're wearing...
I can either reduce damage for robes worn, or I can reduce damage based on AC. Assumption is that plate mail armor has more padding than a leather vest. I can give them a bonus to their blindness save if they wear a helm.

If I want to get mean, I can apply some exposure effects as they take more damage. Reduced move speed, hit penalties, etc from being numb and cold.

                <liking this...>

Cool, er I mean, good :-)

Let's move the nuts & bolts to the Snow Flurries project. The Snow Flurries will be the base of the BE.
Cestus will be updating the resources, so we can talk there without burying this thread.

I'm going to be doing a few more cold-based spells this month. Hopefully everyone's not tired of them yet. '<img'>

List of content I'll be putting together over the next week, more so as a reminder to myself than anything! '<img'>

-Freezing Sphere animated creature/VFX (because Flaming Sphere has had all the fun in other D&D games)
-Wall of Ice creature and spell
-Two different Frost Weapon spells

Just sent 10 icons of frozen books. When thespiritedlass puts the screeny up for me, would someone consider making models to go with these? As I say there are only 10 of them. And that is about it from me for this month. Run out of ideas.

Thanks to Old Time Radios tutorial How To: Display a TGA & PLT on the Same Body Part at the Same Time, I'm working on making my first ever PC body parts...feet with attached snowshoes!

Screenshot(s) will be provided when I've finished.  I've got one working model currently (right foot for a human male), now I need to get the left one working, then figure out how body/armor part numbering works so that they don't override anything, then make alternate versions for all standard races.
