Flesh Golem 2.0
« on: November 11, 2011, 12:03:52 am »

               It's Alive! (HERE)

Sitting in the hospital waiting room yesterday (the wife was having minor surgery), I started altering the flesh golem model to make it less comical/cartoonish.  Using parts of lordofworms' improved zombie model and a bunch of custom stuff, I came up with something I'm more than satisfied with.

The new model looks more like it's made from dead flesh, and features a canister of glowing red fluid on it's back with tubes leading to the body, head, arms, and legs, and eyes that glow the same color as the fluid. After I finished the first one, I made alternate versions with different colors of "fluid".

It does use the original flesh golem as a supermodel for animations (since I'm not really any good with animating things like, um, flesh golems), so it's not a straight up override.

The original (and in my opinion, best looking) version:

The alternate versions.  Added for those that prefer more options when downloading.

Muahahahahaha! '<img'>

Okay, that is cool. I love the glow as well

The problem is, when I hear Flesh Golem I can't help but think of Frakenstein's Monster

Me, too.  I just don't go for the whole green skin thing or a doctor's skill at stitching body parts together. '<img'>

My personal vision for this creature is something that is made from body parts taken from local graves, so they aren't in the best shape.  I see them as the most crude form of golem, using the cheapest of materials for a body (which doesn't take the craftmanship of a clay, stone, or iron golem).  I added the glowing fluid canister and tubes to make it look more like a mad scientist, brilliant alchemist, or crazy wizard had something to do with making him move.

Like many creatures, I see flesh golems as really up to the interpretation of whoever is using them. '<img'>  Kind of like the elementals I revamped a year or so ago.  Just my vision of how they should look (now that I have a little experience with gmax).

Brrrrr....scary!  I love the tank and lines dribbling mystical goo to the not quite alive golem.
