September 2011 Custom Content Challenge: Horror/Creepy themed custom content

               This week, huh? This being Thursday already... *quickly browses own gallery*

I think I may have just the thing, and I know it would make a few of my friends here happy. Undead horses. Of course, that means adding a tail 2da, but...

Mummy Horses
Zombie Horse 2
Zombie Horse

That last horse would be just the normal, non-flaming versions, with and without the saddle.

And if they don't work for ya, there's always a few other horrors waiting to be unleashed:

"Beer Belly" Cthulhu
Bhaal Spawn aka "The Slayer"

I'd have to make some portraits for whatever I submit, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

Or how about just a simple, decent raven, for those Poe and hitchcock inspired moments? I made it from a seagull, as a replacement for the Bioware raven.

Izk do good?

Anything in particular jump out at you? The horses would be my first choice, but I'll leave it up to the gang here.

               *Hisses and quickly slaps a hand over Cestus' mouth*  Stop that!  I am not re-opening the demonic theme.  Sheesh.  *Mean, narrow eyed, look at Cestus.*  Don't go breaking that theme either so that I have to issue an update.

*Turns to Izk and smiles*  Well now, that depends on what you can get done and in my hands by Sunday morning.   Your first choice of the horses sounds like a good one.  The raven would fit in nicely as well.

               <laughing himself...>

Ah, Lass! The poor blighter didn't even realize what he was doing :-)

He just hates horses and their relatives with a passion.  Something to do with a mule that was more stubborn than him about three centuries ago. She took a liking to the little fella =)

<raven?>
Hmmm, the raven sounds good though. <oh, please? i get so tired flapping behind you when you rest or pause :-P combined with tad's vfx raven to give me a perch on your shoulder, i'd be *really* happy!>
Not so sure I want you back on my shoulder, bird. You've gained about five kilos since the PnP days...
<have not!>
All them rainbow snails people been giving you...
<choice! :->
Heh. We'll see.

And I'll keep my hands (and my associates) off the Demonic theme, Lass. Promise. :-)
Sneaky edit 'cuz I know she's not looking: Unless a certain Mistress drops out of sight...

<...silly>

               Four horses and a raven it is then. The raven currently overrides the Bioware one, so it's essentially done, unless you want it as non-overriding, but the default portrait would still work for it. I'll see what I can do with portraits for the horses.

So if I understand things right, I also need to provide a screenshot for each, as well as an erf. I would just need to know what 2da lines you want me to use.

               Is that the raven in Project Q? It looks familiar.

               Already answered this in a PM but for the lurkers:  No, overwriting standard NWN is bad.  We can include an override version in the download but the hak content should play nice.

Screenie - required unless you WANT to be noogied.  In which case I'll noogie you then demand a screenie.  *Grins*
Erf - would be really nice
2da lines - sent in the PM

*pounces on henesua*  Hey stranger.  Did you get trapped inside the spooky tree? '<img'>

Nope. I never released it. I wouldn't submit it here otherwise. It was one of the last things I was working on before I "left". I did recycle the body/wing textures from two different user-made ravens, but I did the eyes, and the model is pure Bioware seagull, with lots of vertex adjustments by yours truly. I actually made a walking version too, but the wings didn't turn out right.

Doh! Honestly, I should've remembered that. I recall a few issues with that in the past with a certain popular set of community made hacks. I even submitted a hak to the Vault to fix one of those issues. So yeah, overwriting is bad.

               Spirited Lass - yes I did. I never ported those trees to Max for importing into NWN. They are simply textured modules only. I'm just too busy with my other NWN projects to pull this off. (That and I worked about 160 hours during two weeks of December and need to spend more time with my fmaily after that.)

               The last tree is the one I wanted to finish. The bent over one, but I have not touched it in months now. New baby. A massive deadline that resulted in round the clock work for two weeks. (And I mean that literally. I only worked slept and ate for two weeks. I am underestimating the amount of hours I worked when I say 160 hours in two weeks because I slept much much less than 8 hours a day. I hope never to work that hard again. I was wiped out at the end there.) So anyway since all that dust has settled, I've been playing catchup on Arnheim projects and occassional bug squashing for Vives rather than firing up my modeller. I'm just too busy to get back to 3D modelling. I really need to get Expedition to Devil's island ready for its first play test in a few weeks.

Incidentally - a big factor in my choice of NWN for creating an RPG mod was because I wouldn't have to produce the art work. I got burned out doing everything on my own. So... I've lost touch with digital art and am much more of a coder these days. I think my use-right-brain skill lost some points these past couple years in NWN.
