That reminds me of an item I designed a long time ago - bone whip, made out of vertebrae (modeling such a thing is beyond me)

Changed my mind, since I don't have time this month to do a full village (even a small one).  Instead, I'm going to go with making some bone flail options (thanks for the idea, Hardcore UFO).  Not going to do sword parts for now, just because I think it'd be nice to have something special for the mostly-ignored flail wielders out there (well, really it's just a lack of time thing).

Morning gang.  Here is the bumper crop of goodies so far for this challenge.  Did I miss anyone?
Birdman076 – Icons
Birdman076 – Portraits
Borden Haelven - Big Skull placeable – probably should have a portrait
henesua and Rolo Kipp - Spooky trees
Mistress - placeable sounds
Raven_Xantrice - Necronocium book – should have a portrait
Rolo Kipp - Crone, Eater of the Dead – should have a portrait
ShadowM - Corpse Collector, Death Knight, or Night Walker – should have a portrait
Six – Heads
The Amethyst Dragon - Bone flail weapons
Zwerkules - Nuckelavee – should have a portrait

The file deadline is Oct 5th.  This month Birdman076 will be doing the demo module.  *massive dreamy smile over that*  So that will add a few days delay to the Vault posting process.

This month I’d like to try and coordinate the 2da lines we will be using before y’all send the files in (and pretty please, and erf file of your content – that would be wonderful but not required).  This will greatly speed up the time it takes to merge things together and construct the demo module.  Lets take that chatter to the http://social.biowar.../#post_2125714' class='bbc_url' title='Lien externe' rel='nofollow external'> CC Makers group  so we don’t flood this thread with boring info that most people will not need to read. '<img'>  If you are a new participant this month, add me as a friend and poke me with a stick so I can send you a group invite.  *grins*

Bone flail models made.  Now onto inventory icons.

For those wondering, bone parts used come from the awesome skeleton in Project Q...I've found no better example of bones and skulls anywhere for NWN (I just can't remember if it was _six or lordofworms that made them).  I've just done some cutting, resizing, rotating, and vertex moving  (and a few other things) to make them work as weapon parts models.

Edit: Adding preview pics from in-game testing.

Awesome work AD. I may have to build a flail character now.

Nice! the Weapons of Legacy book for D&D had a nunchaku that was made from the bones of a monk.. that's got a similar look. Though as good as the bone parts look, they make the chain in the middle look extra awful.  Maybe a simple rope connecting them instead?

D'oh!  I probably should have read this before I packaged it all up and emailed it in.

You're right, and now I've got to go in and remake the chains (they are currently just the Bioware flail chains), and I'll take another round of screenshots and send them in again when done.  I think I'll go with rusty metal links (yes, actual links with holes in the middle, gmax can make a handy little "torus" shape that should work nicely with a little stretching and squashing).  Thanks for the feedback.

I've been away for awhile from these forums because I've been busy. My schedule has slipped and I haven't got any content to Rolo. I don't think I'm going to make the deadline. The trees I am working on will be finished, and I'll put them up for use one way or another. Just not in the next couple weeks.

Done and emailed in (again). New (rusty old) chains, with 9 actual links in each (rather than 3 chunks with black dots on them like the original flails).

Here's a preview image for y'all...if you want you can follow this link for the full resolution image (I hate how this forum shrinks images).

Just so H won't think I'm twiddling my thumbs... =)

As you can see, I still have texture issues and I'm still unhappy with Her hair (She just *won't* comb it out!)
And I only just noticed that I have a few flipped normals :-(
Edit: fixed the rib's normals and tweaked the geometry.

Oh I didn't think you were twiddling your thumbs. Its always good to see screenshots though. You've got many transparent textures there. It will be interesting to see it all together when you are finished.

               <pointing...>

I do *so* not wanna tick Her off!

But I've been putting update screenshots back around the middle of page 3 of this thread... with updates :-) I didn't want to flood the board with constant updates. If you want a pictorial history of Her development, look at the gallery on Her project page. :-)

But the temptation of having boney flails swinging around her head overcame my common sense <hah!>

               Blood, blood, glorious blood
Nothing quite like it for staining the mud
So follow me follow
Down to the hollow
Where we will wallow
in glorious blood

With apologies to the late Flanders and Swan. Or to put it another way, I have just this instant sent 50 blood related placeables for this month's contribution.
