Actually, that site is dead, but we have saved all the forums/tutorials
etc, and you can find them on the website in my sig, or go directly to
the custom content forums there and browse through quite a bit.

We hope to be adding MORE tutorials, both vid capture style, and standard step by step, pic in post style as we progress.

We are actively seeking folks to help flesh out these various tutorials or
add new ones, so if you have a mind to create a tutorial on creating
custom content, either graphic related or any other type of custom
content, we can accomodate you easily.

I have begun a new project page -  Neverwinter Realms CC - Neverwinter Nights Miscellany
This project is a collection of various tips, techniques, and tutorials for
the CC creator. It is complied from various authors in the NWN Community
and is intended to serve as a repository of hard to find, useful
information.

Some of the things you'll find:
Game Configuration
Custom Content Essential Tools
Bannor Bloodfist's Tileset Window Illumination Tutorial
Estelindis' UVW Mapping Tutorial
...and much more (over 50 pages of material).
This is a living document that is constantly changing as new information
becomes available. I have attempted to be as accurate as possible, but
make no guarantees as to the specific accuracy of any information
contained within. I invite the Community to correct, submit, and/or
ammend information as necessary. I may even convert this over to a Wiki
if enough people are interested.
The file that is available for download was written with Microsoft Word 2007.

If you have the image you can let NWN make the portrait for you:

1. Place the jpeg file (e.g. my_pic.jpg) in the portraits subdirectory of where Neverwinter Nights is installed (typically C:NeverwinterNights\\NWN\\portraits).
2. Start Neverwinter Nights, then start (or load) a game.
3. Enter the console command "ConvertPortrait" followed by the name of the image without the extension (e.g. "ConvertPortrait my_pic").
4. Find the .tga files in the portraits subdirectory, zip them up into a single archive file, and share it with the community.

Taken from nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Portrait. You can find much more information there. You might have to crop the image a bit depending on how large it is and what exactly is displayed.

               <bumping...>

Might you fine people be willing to point me to a tutorial for messing about with people? Specifically, altering the appearance, names & other interesting bits of races?

Edit: To be clear, I want to change information on the 7 base races to conform to my own twisted, er, alternative take.

Page 3?! Grrrr.

Bump.

And a request for a good tutorial on assigning sounds and events to the anims of an object. I know you can add footsteps to the walking, etc. anims and explosion effects when dying.

I'd really like one of these great tutorial crafters to lay it out so even a thick-skulled dwarf could understand <living dangerously, boss. you're running low on ale and he gets grumpy drinking wine. *more* grumpy>

Actually, in specific its uses nwmax, and Gmax, though yes, the same plugin is available for 3ds Max (gmax is simply a free "lite" version of 3dsMax).

So id say maby say something like...

"This is the best turtorial I've been following for g-max but it is also useable with 3ds-max. (3ds-max is the professional version of G-max, with more options available to the designer.)"

P.S. Thx for adding tutorial, I hope it helps ppl learn modeling, and more important, that they  have fun doing it '<img'>
