Hello, i'm using this tileset with pleasure and am curious if anyone has ever done an addition or extending of his window tiles . By far, i know the extra ordinary work of goudea ..but this of course resides in a futuristic style and how much i love his windows, they doesnt fit in a medieval frame.

I will be very gratefull if anyone could point me to an easy to implement addition or something else I have missed.

Thanks a lot in advance ':kissing:'

               Hello Mdarkbyte!

Sen is working on a tileset with windows based on those windows by Gaoneng. The tileset itself is based on an NWN2 tileset.

When I find the time to finish my override version of the Bioware interior (the roofs are still missing) I'll also add a number of tiles with windows.

               Sounds great Zwerkules [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]

but I can't believe in all these years no one takes his hands on this windows? There are by default a city ground, a desert, a rural and..hm..let me think ah..a snowy landscape available. There are so many other perspectives i like to have ..the default waterfall one for rural in example doesn't fit in all my needs and it looks odd to have alle windows the same outlook ? There are some scripting windows systems at the vault, but this isn't the same feeling [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie]

Thinking of creating such an mini skybox by myself, If i know how to do this on my own..but working at tilesets? no no..sure I'm breaking things up [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]

so I'll be patient ''

oh..of course @Borden Haelven , i know them very well and like them a lot! But my focus is on the skyboxes behind the windows, thinking there are others CC-Creators who grabbed this idea like Goudea did in his futuristic interior tileset *sigh* '<img'>  but  for more medieval like settings.

Im working on a new tileset which (as Zwerkules said) will feat skyboxed windows based on Gaonengs ones. I think Ill post some ss of the tileset itself (started from nw2 city interior tiles) in the short future (here or on the vault) , though for the release i dont have an eta (I still have to extend it a bit and fight with a few designers choices)

I did some modification to the castle interior windows some time back.  I'm a bit of a stickler for details when it comes to my (probably never to be finished) module, and it bothered me that that windows inside the castle didn't have the same shape as the ones outside.  Also, since my castle was in a city, I wanted those inside to be able to look outside at my city, not at the countryside.  Here's a little picture of the results: gothic-arched windows for the ground floor of the castle and arrow slits for the upper floor.  Mind you, the work I did was limited to adding my modified windows to the tiles that I wanted to have windows in the main castle in my module.  Also, it was done in Helvene's Marble Castle tileset, but it would be fairly easy to adapt to any other version of Castle Interior.

I've wondered how it would be to create these sort of 'bubble' windows, only on ceilings and floor tiles. Thus, you could  have 'pits' that one could see 'a portion of what's down there', and shafts on the ceiling to see 'a bit of what's up there'. They could also take the form of broken flagstones or ceiling tiles. Transitions could be used to actually get to those places (or not). I thought about trying my hand at it, but never got a round Tuit as the saying goes.

edit: when I say get to those places I of course mean to either another area entirely, or another section of the same area made to look like the destination.

I actually did some stuff with floor "windows" in my Ship Interior tiles in Project Q (listed within the city interior 2 tileset), if you want to check it out.

Ceilings are a bit more problematic, because if you view in top down, you'll be able to see the profile of whats outside the window. So if that's a mini skybox like in gaoneng's work, it looks understandably a bit trippy. Generally you can only pull it off if you have something to hide whats outside from the player. So that can be the floor, in my example, or the 'black nothing' layer in gao's stuff.

You can get around that problem if you take a cue from diademus' spidercaves and lock the camera beneath the ceiling using a walkmeshed roof. But that's only really an option if the ceiling is high enough to pull the camera out.

I can't remember who it was by, but I could swear I have a hak lying around that adds a pit group with a visible (but inaccessible) lower level extending underneath to the Bioware caves. That was pretty cool.

Yeah ..i know this Estelindis by myself , I'm a nitpicker in building areas *sighs* and if it's my own work very hard to please '' Love the inner windows much, but it bothered me like you, that they didn't have the same shape .Perhaps there's "someone" who  could solve this? I think this is because of the different window types between kitchen, livingroom etc. but could this not be equalized in some way? (oops.. I'm not an tileset artist and know nothing about "possibilites" please forgive me ':?'  )

Aaah..'<img'> you make my morning bright Estelindis ! Erm "easy to adapt" ..did you think a tileset noob like me could do it?

And i'm very grateful too about your ideas and answers thanks for reply, ideas and thoughts @Frith5 and @_six (which i know as a superb tileset artist since many years '' ) But this (floor windows etc.) is somewhat over my own skills..just read and dream......mmmmh!

When I say "easy to adapt," I mean I'll do it for you and post the files when I have the time.  '<img'>  I'm super-busy, so I don't know when, but you'll get them as soon as it's possible for me.

Your enthusiasm is appreciated, by the way.  Its builders like you who make the creation of custom content truly rewarding.  '^_^'

My pleasure.  Have started work on it but it's slightly harder than I remembered it would be because Marble Castle isn't a straight reskin.  Have to change some objects back to standard Bioware materials and texture mapping before being able to give you a proper hakpak.  Will keep you updated.

On the plus side, once it's done, all you'll need to do to create a custom vista outside your castle window is to replace the skybox textures with whatever you like.  I got mine by making my character cutscene-invisible, zooming right out, and taking screenshots at four different times of the game day (dawn, day, dusk, and night).  Use mine if you like or make your own.  :-)

I'm feeling like a noob at this..but notice after all this years there's something i didn't know with this game..hehe.., funny !
