Question about ACP and PRC compatability
« on: March 17, 2011, 04:33:37 pm »

Since there doesn't seem to be a search function here, and there's nothing I found useful on the PRC forums, I thought I'd ask here, instead.

I'm fairly new with the moding stuff, having done just about anything with any of the base classes in the original campaign and the two expansions.  I found the PRC a few days ago and I'm having a blast with the new content, but I also found the ACP about a week ago.  The new combat styles are great, but once I 'upgraded' to PRC 3.3 (which is the most recent and final patch, I'm guessing) they didn't work.  I know there's an ACP v3.0, but it doesn't have the arcane and darkblade animations, and the 4.0 s just all-round more complete.

So, my question is:  Is the ACP v4.0 combat animation hak compatable with the current versions of PRC?  If so, how can I install it (keeping in mind, I'm still a newbie at this moding and scripting business)?

EDIT: It's for the original three campaigns, of that helps, any.

               Hi HastyPudding,

When you say it doesn't work, can you be a little more specific? At what point are you finding it not working?

Question about ACP and PRC compatability

               Me again.

There seems to be no conflict in the phenotype 2da - the ACP 4 ones appear in the PRC 3.4 phenotype 2da, so I'm not too sure.

I've never used the PrC myself, but am pretty familiar with ACP4

Well, as I think you know, ACP v4.0 uses a custom conversation using the radial craft menu in order to use the style you want.

Before I used PRC, I just used a typical override method; the two .hak files (ACPv4_convo.hak and ACPv40.hak) in the hak folder, the .tlk file (acp_v40.TLK) in the tlk folder, and exported all of the files in the haks into the override, and it worked fine.

Now, with the PRC, the craft menu is missing the combat animations option, and it's just the normal craft menu.  That's where the problem is; the menu isn't even showing up, and I don't know how to fix it, if it can be fixed, and I don't want to attempt to do anything that I don't know how to do because it might conflict with other things.  I never touched a 2da file, even using the override method, and the PRC manual stats that it is already compatable with ACP and has the 2da file already built in.

The instructions in the PRC online manual are for v3.0, not v4.0, and the v4.0 doesn't have the same files and it has additional files that the manual doesn't cover, unless there is something I'm not seeing.  If there were step-by-step instructions for the v4.0, I'd love to see them.

               NEVERMIND I'M DUMB! ':?'

When I installed PRC, I made a backup of all the folders I had put things in (like the erf and override) so that if I had a lot of trouble with PRC, I could revert it back to the original.  After installing PRC, I put some things back in the override, like a few custom heads and models, and left some things out.  APPARENTLY, I left out the x0_skill_ctrap file from the ACPv4_convo.hak, which is required to make the craft radial menu work with the animation options.  I thought it was still in the override....

i r nub ._.

While I'm here, there's a simple question I have.  is there a way to make NPC models smaller?  I was messing around yesterday and found the Halastar model; the one where he's floating and has awesome attack animations.  The only thing is he's about 20 feet tall.  Is there any way to make models smaller?
