Map Mats Service Pack 1 Released
« on: February 13, 2011, 01:25:20 am »

I have just uploaded Map Mats Service Pack 1 to the vault and it is apparently already available to download. With this service pack I have instituted some changes and additions to the original Map Mats package.
  • 200+ New Placeables
  • A New Surface Type
  • A New class of Mat
  • Targets are now included within the package itself
  • Maps can now be created without anything other than the Map Mats package including this service pack
The new surface type does not have grid-lines unlike the older surfaces. Included in the archive there are 4 modules, 2 haks, 2 erfs and 2 pdf documents and the size of the archive is 10.9 meg. I have also updated Add-Ons 1 - 8. Add-On 9 will be updated when I get ftp access.

               Nice job on this.

One of the great things about updating existing entries on the Vault: you don't have wait for approval, as the changes happen as soon as you're done editing the entry. '<img'>

Thank you. One bad thing about updating an existing entry is actually getting the word out. It doesn't appear on the front page of the vault and a promo can take over a week. Hence this thread.

One thing I didn't mention in my previous post is that with this service pack you can now create maps with that "hand drawn" feel.

One other thing, now it's out there on the vault I might finally loose my tunnel vision and get around to about a dozen other things that have been on the back-burner fpr what seems like weeks '<img'>.

Only a dozen other things?  '<img'>

I know the feeling of a project that seems to go on, and on, and on...  Of course, I also get sidetracked by other NWN things that spark my interest (best way for me to avoid scripting burn-out is to switch to creating something else new...oooo, tiki masks!), then I jump back into those big projects, then real life interrupts (children in my case), then back to the project...

It occurs to me that as I didn't put a lot of pictures for this service pack on the vault page (there wasn't a lot of room), people won't realise what is actually in the main hak. So here is a list -

14 Buildings

11 Decorative

6 Fog of Ignorance aka (FOW)

17 Markers

19 Plants (inc. 15 trees)

12 canal

13 hills

8 lakes

35 mountains

5 Terrain/Other

14 river (plus an extra 6 coloured ones)

11 road

6 streams

23 large tile type mats

ive seen this on the vault! so i understand what it means to "feel" like your entry never gets noticed, but i realized that the nwnvault is just simply an "in between" forum where people go to simply download what they want without thinking about who made it... unfortunatly '<img'>

but regardless you did an excellent job, and trust me, you caught alot of fans attention...

               Thanks oOKyeOo.

The last of the add-ons has been updated. Had to wait for ftp access but now, with the update to Kara Tur, all of the addon maps have been updated.
