Revised High Res textures
« on: January 20, 2011, 01:03:49 am »

Hi. been a while since I've played.

Anyhow I was looking on the vault and noticed that there are several hi-res texture haks. Some of them are even made using the original Bioware code. So what I'm wondering is if there is a complete high-res redux for NWN1?

I hope to see at least all the Bioware source material in one download as well as some custom content. Right now this is partialy avalible on the vault as roughly six downloads. But it would take an additional 30 or so downloads if all the monsters were done.

In a perfect world there would be new texture maps for all the backgrounds too.

Also what is the highest res that can be run in game? Some say 512x512 others 1024x1024 (stock NWN was 64x64!?) in the comments found in the vault files.

Whoops jumped the gun here. Just found NWNcq and Shaders.

But if there is anything else one could recommend that would be super. I used to do some modding back in the day so if i have to get my hands dirty i'm not worried. I just don't have the time to commit if by dirty one means redig the pamana canal.'Posted

The highest resolution image I was able to get into the game (without crashing it) is a 4096 x 4096 DDS.  This was applied to a large flat plane placeable which was created solely for the purpose of testing it.  Even with the compression the DDS weighed in at about 11 megs.  The largest DDS files in official game content are 1024 x 1024, I believe.

Those would be the two I'd recomend. They greatly increase the loading time for areas but the visual difference is pretty spectacular.

I'll post the links in case anyone else is interested:
