riding mounts
« on: January 14, 2011, 12:29:25 am »

I have created a Boar mount that is totally dynamic. It works best for the dwarves, but i can't seem to get a pc to be able to mount it..wasn't sure if i needed to modify scripts or what?

You'll have to use something like Photobucket then link the picture's url in a post.

As for mounting the boar, I think you need some kind of node that designates the height of the back/saddle and apply the riding phenotype to the PC.

Also, what scripts are you using for the mounting process?

Was just using the standard horse scripts, but it says this is not a mount.

You have the boar set as a tailmodel, and added to the tails .2da file, right?

In the toolset, pick a human, set the phenotype to mounted, then select your boar as the tail.

That's it.

yah that works perfectly for npc's just can'tget it to work for player characters, and i think its because i need a script. But, I am not good with scripting.

Proleric's guide has all you need to set this up. The Vault page now suggests using the version included in the 1.69 Lexicon, in itself an indispensable resource.
Get it here:

edit: for a quick test, try setting this local variable as an integer to a value of 1, on the blueprint of our boar mount:

bX3_IS_MOUNT

good luck, and congrats on making the boar as a mount. '<img'>

Any luck? Also, do you plan on releasing your mountable boar? It sounds cool.

i am working on a worg mount now ,no luck with the pc's,I am horrible with scripting but all is well with both mounts otherwise.Yah i will be releasing this pak ,but i am trying to figure out the animations with the worg ,because they are a little weird when it runs. This work is based off of the Goblin queens gryphons,so I hope that pc's will be able to mount them.I see that (fully-dynamic)npc's work perfectly. There will be screen's on the vault in the next day or two.

Sounds cool, Draygoth28! I will watch for them.
Other mounts? How about a riding dog, for halflings? I think it'd be cool to have an ox for a half-orc also.
Also, how about making a snake?

Good luck!

You can also upload pictures to your personal photo album here on the social site, then link directly to them to have them appear in your posts.
