Another NWNCQ Post. Please Help???
« on: October 14, 2010, 08:10:18 am »

               Excuse me?

I recently downloaded the NWNCQ made by Chico.
http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=7848

I think he has made quite good work with it, it looks very nice too.... must have taken a year or 2, perhaps 3.... I don't know.

But I have a bit of an issue with it, and I am wondering if it is possible to change the way it is made with some of the tilesets.

For e.g. I don't really care much for the rural 1, and would much prefer to stick to the old rural tileset.

Also, I really like the new city and castle interiors, but I don't wish those tilesets to look like that for everytime I place them down!!'<img'>:( Sometimes I will want to vary them..... like for 1area, I would like to have the original castle interior, and another area, I would like to have the one that Chico made in his NWNCQ Project.

Is there any way to do this with this hak, so that I am not having it look like that for every single tileset please? It is rather annoying to have it setup in the way it is at the moment!!'<img'>:(

Also.... I think he has made this somewhat wrong!!'<img'>
What he COULD HAVE DONE..... perhaps.... was to make them all into seperate haks. For e.g. 1 for the rural hak, another for the city interior, another for castle intterior e.t.c so that we can just download the ones we want to use and not have to have them all grouped together in 1 single hak.

Alternatively....... put all the tileset haks into download 1 file, and after download, just pick out the ones we want to use. something a bit like that I guess.

I feel I am just not happy with his current setup of having to have the same tilesets in place of every single tilesets that I use! I mean, I love the look and everything.... but I just don't like the current setup I'm afraid! *big sigh!*

All the NWNCQ tilesets are made as overrides, so if you want to use them at the same time as the Bioware tilesets, you'd have to ask Chico to make versions that don't override the standard tilesets.

That's not a lot of work, but all that renaming of files and textures can get tedious.

You'd have to ask Chico if he's got some time to do so and if he wants to do that.

An alternative would be doing it yourself. There are plenty of tutorials on how to copy and rename

tilesets. It's really quite simple, but it is booooooring work '<img'>

As for the tilesets being in separate haks, if I recall correctly he started distributing them in separate haks. Maybe some of them are still around and not too different from the newer ones.

Renaming tilesets, it's about as much fun as numbering heads or clothing parts.
