Looking for a gmax/nwnw tutorial.
« on: October 07, 2010, 04:22:01 am »

I'd like to take a stab at making a custom placeable. I currently have gmax/nwmax but I can't find any tuts for it that pertain to NWN. I found a couple things that both linked to bricksbuilder.com but it's dead. Nothing there.
If anyone could direct me to any noob gmax/nwnw tutorials I'd very much appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

If you download NWgMax Plus or NWmax (make sure you grab the version marked "for gmax only") in the docs directory you should find a tutorial in html format.

Thanks for pointing that out Michael. That was hiding way in the folders. However after reading it, I may as well just have read it in japanese. Is there something more for "dummies"?

Is it best to do some gmax tutorials first that have nothing to do with NWN? Or would it be better if I import an nwn model first and mess with it? Is it better to start off with something super simple like a cube and texture it, convert it, etc...?

Sorry if these are lame noob questions. I have never done any modeling yet. Only thing I know how to do is script.

Try some of the tutorials here -->> Custom Content Guide

The LOK tutorials are nice because they are in video format.  A few things here and there may have changed since these tutorials were written, but this should get you started on the basics.

Good luck,
