October's 2010 Custom Content Challenge: Commoner's much needed love!

I have some keys and hope to work on a keyring as well.I can give models for them but someone will have to texture them?I have to figure out exporting files out of gmax to whereever as well but at least im tryen to do something. The one key looks magical from twisting and bending it.

I have some ideas as well if someones stuck.
1.Placeable lantern made by altering the weapon lantern without the cord
2.Cep has a war object that has a basket on it.I think the basket could be taken out of that model and used by itself for cliff areas allowing a basket ride down.
3.Torches on the ground that burn....basicly the same holdable torch rotated and used as a placeable.

*Chants* BRING ON THE PLACEABLE CLOTHES! Lol...honestly I was just looking for that EXACT thing on the Vault only a few days ago to go in the new shops I am adding to my module. A most excellent suggestion if I do say so myself. As for the above screenshot those are pretty good looking outfits '<img'>

Love the outfits, Six.  Brilliant look.  (Just reminds me I need to run all my September things through NWN Armoury and see how much adjustment they need...)

Entreri: are there any placeable clothes you're looking for in particular?

Sadly, I'm no modeler, so I can't do much for this challenge. I like the idea for placeable clothes and what _six has done. I'm just going to toss some ideas around: Butcher Garb (a blacksmith retexture will do), "dirty and torn" clothes as commoners don't always have the fanciest fashions on the farm.

I could create a sample "run way" mod for the entries. I'll have to freshin up my cutscene skills. lol.

I believe someone already suggested the things I was looking for. Since you asked though I was looking for racks of dresses, stacks of trousers and shirts. Pretty much anything you'd expect to find in a clothing store of present day only take it back to the games time period.  Perhaps a stand that has clothing in cubby holes....*shrugs* Anything really that adds more depth and realism. I find it kind of absurd and a little boring building a clothing shoppe and all I have for clothing placeables are the bolts of cloth hehe.

There's a Clothing/Armor Stand creature in the CEP that, being a creature, can equip and show any torso while being, you know, a stand.  Very useful for what you're describing

Project Q also has Clothing/Armour stand placeables.

There's definitely stuff out there beyond just bolts of cloth.

Aye, I forgot about those. Although even WITH those stands it gives limited options as far as what a realistic in depth clothing retailers shoppe would look like.  Don't get me wrong they are useful and add depth as well and imo they would only be enhanced by clothing racks of dresses and shirts etc. Just like if they were created the racks  would add depth to the stands as well. Used in conjunction I think they would compliment one another nicely.

Uploaded a Magical Key to the vault it should be up there if they approve it.I sent a mesh to them that was compressed into a rar file.I couldnt take a screenshot with fraps because when gmax is open it sucks up all my buttons. Its a untextured model with 381 polys. If someone wants the model give me a emailadress and ill send them the rar.

I'd be more than happy to texture it, but if there's anything specific you want on it you'd probably have to say! PMed you my E-Mail address. '<img'>

Looks like the entry was approved on the vault.
If you could post a screenshot when its done it be cool.Id try to stick to a color that they could see on a tablee i guess.Actually that file might need to be resized in gmax...Im not sure what sizes are for nwn but i guess that can be done after texturing.

I've got two unfinished brooms and for a module I need a saw, so I thought this weekend I'll make a few tools for the commoners. I think The Amethyst Dragon mentioned that a holdable broom exists somewhere, but I never saw one - speaking of saws, I never saw a saw either and a hammer that doesn't look like a weapon would be nice too. I will make a shovel, rake, two brooms, a hammer and a saw.

Not sure about the holdable brooms - although I think I've seen them used somewhere, too - but The Amethyst Dragon did make some mops (click here).
