I'm working on my pirate outfit, but it's difficult, and I wouldn't be happy showing it off in its current state.

Starting off with the male version, I'm kinda going for a pirate jacket with an ornate belt buckle and a free-flowing shirt underneath.  But I'm still trying to decide whether I should do exactly the same for the female version, or make something involving more corset...  You'll be in a better position to offer suggestions once I have more to show you, though.  :-)

Absolutely more corset, please, I beg you.  Corsets are the best thing to ever happen to female fashion (my girlfriend agrees!), and NWN needs more of them.

What I has made so far this month:

http://nwn1cc.com/si...mpit/piratecoat

Disclaimer - it's moderately derivative, as the model from around 2/3 of the way up to the top is from DLA's long coat - though everything below that point is my own geometry (and the texture is my own work in progress from scratch).

Looks good, Six!  We should have a great selection of pirate-ish clothing by the end of the month.

Are you doing it as a robe, or as a chest?  Personally, I'm going for parts-based, but I'm wondering if one can get away with such a billowy coat and still make it a chest (sans clipping).

Eradrain: unless anyone states a preference to the contrary, I'll go with a corset!  Of course, I have to finish the male version first...

I've been very busy with RL stuff for the last few weeks, but I do have an idea for what I'd like to create:

Pirate Kit, more or less, consisting of VFX eyepatch, and VFX bandanna, and VFX earrings. Alas, I've nothing to show yet, but once I get going I don't think it'll be that tough of a project. So, just close your eyes and imagine anyone in the game being able to don a hoop earring, an eyepatch, and a bandanna.

Regaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrds,

JFK
''
(couldn't resist, sorry)

Actually it's not even a clothing item - just the first stage of putting together my ghoulish pirate creature. I could probably put together a male "robe" from it, since it's a skinmesh, though I'd probably have to model custom legs and pelvis for it as well to ensure clipping is limited. But I'll hit that obstacle when I come to it.

               Six, that's looking pretty good.

I think it'd be really cool if you did end up making a clothing item out of that.  It shouldn't be -that- much more work, and it'd definitely see a lot of use.

Six is a hard act to follow, but here's an update on my pirate chest model:

'Posted

Made it bulkier and more rugged-looking as per others' advice, and added some basic (read: rubbish) skull detail. Most of the detail will be achieved with textures though.

That's great Six.  A pirate who walked the plank and didn't come back up for a while...

Nice looking chest as well...

Ya i think a small chest is a good idea.I also like those small extruded details on the chest where the lock and handels are.

Maybe some smaller deatails could be like spider webs on the inside,or something unique like that.

Whoops, Six - when I saw the pic, I forgot you were doing a pirate ghoul.  Good times anyway - I really like the outfit on him, especially the belt.  :-)

Chest is looking good, Ben - nice and sturdy.  I like the clasp at the front and the similar detail on the sides.

Haven't started yet. Did a lot of searching for images of Arabian sailors and Sinbad. Amazing how little imagery I've found.

I'll definitely have to start with punjabi pants.

I've worked with deformable meshes before, the skirts on the Egyptian guardian models I made in the last Q update for example, but never with robe models for PC's. I'll have to talk to someone (probably Six) on how to set that up.
