September 2010 CC Challenge: Pirates!

               I am nearly finished with the chest and belt parts of the outfit (which are pretty much all I can manage for now; the rest will be submitted to the Commoners' challenge).  Sorry it has taken so long.  Everything needs to be tweaked in a slightly different way for each race.  (And that is after I tweaked so much to adjust for the way human females stand...  Turns out the effect isn't nearly as pronounced for most other races, so I had to undo quite a bit of my work.)

I am done with the corset for all races, but the shoulders of the men's jacket clip for all races but human, so I have to fix that.  

Please don't wait any longer for me, folks.  You can always add my stuff later on, once I've fixed the jacket; it's easy to update Vault entries.  I will try to get it finished by this weekend, anyway.

Re. the Challenge in general, I'd like to keep contributing, but I'll be more careful in future about biting off more than I can chew.  ;-)  I'd already done a bit of work with clothing, but it was only ever reskins, so almost no modelling work was involved.  I didn't realise how tough it is to develop new clothing for all races and both genders.  Much respect to all those who have already done so.

               *sleepy smiles*  I've received the files from Jez, just to double check... There is content from the following people:  AmethystDragon, Cervantes, Dark_Defiance, Rubies (the rar is corrupted and will not open, could you please send me another copy?), and Six.  If I'm missing anyone’s, let me know.  In all reality I most likely will not have a chance to work on this until Tues.  So that gives you some extra time, Estelindis.  *grins*  Building in some estimated time for my learning curve and vault approval time, I anticipate the goodies should be on the vault by next weekend. =)

I have lots more to do with this (sleeves, bracers, boots - plus adding a billowy shirt for males which will correspond to the strapless corset chest part for females).  But this is what I have finished for now: chest and belt parts for all races.  I have tried to avoid clipping as much as I can, but a bit of it does happen around the shoulders during some combat moves with male characters.  The belt for females is just a copy of the standard blacksmith's belt minus its little pouch.  Just though I'd throw it in for variety's sake and to have a part that corresponds to the male belt; obviously, though, the credit there isn't mine.

There are a boatload of things I could have done better, but time isn't infinite, so I must stop tweaking now.

I hope folks enjoy it!  Any and all bug reports are welcome, but I'm going to take a little break before fixing them.  ;-)

               Thank you Jez!  :-D  Honestly, there are so many things I'd like to have done better, but it's stressed me out so much being late for the challenge that I'm just glad to have even this much finished.  It's a real weight off my back.  :-)
