zep_ragtime1 crash?
« on: August 01, 2010, 07:08:56 am »

Everytime I exit nwn while testing and while in one particular area, nwn will crash/not close correctly. I get the "Neverwinter Nights has encountered a problem and needs to close." message. I narrowed it down to the zep_ragtime1 sound as this only happens while this sound is active and only while it is playing.
So now I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced any issues with this particular sound. I really want to use it for my tavern but not if it is going to cause any unknown problems for my mod.
Any info on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Well. It's been over a day. I'm just going to bump this once. If no one knows anything about it I'll just leave it alone after this bump.

Does the same issue occur if, say, you play the sound in the Toolset?

Now that you mention it. I never even checked that out.

If i play the sound itself while looking through all the sound files and what not. I works fine. If i play the sound from the sound properties itself it works fine. However something odd occurs when i have the "play placed sound objects in area" option active in the toolset, you can't hear the sound at all untill i zoom into/over another sound that is in the area. I have a fire place sound in the area as well. so if i move my view over to that sound then the zep ragtime sounds kicks in and I can move anywhere in the area and it will continue to play(it is checked to play everywhere in area). Not sure what's up with that. Doesn't seem normal..but then again i usuall don't have my placed sounds playing. I have also tried using this placed sound in different ways. Delays, from a specific position, etc. And everytime I exit NWN, however that sound is playing, it crashes.

I can confirm this bug. NWN does indeed crash when you try to close it down after being in an area where this sound is playing.

It's to bad because that's a cool sound. I'll bring it up at the next meeting.

Thanks 420. I really like that sound. It's perfect for the piano and piano player. And if you guys want to, you could maybe add a couple more kinda like it? '<img'>;) And maybe a nice little harp tune for the harpist?'<img'>

Take care.
