I would love to see more medieval-ish armors. Currently there is only the one from 1.69 (apart from hauberks) and I really love that medieval-ish feeling.

So, a historically accurate theme?  Could toss in realistic medieval weapons into that too.

Some mods for Skyrim use that look to:

Is mainly armors, shields should be mainly retexturing them, although there are some medieval shields already in CEP and other compilations. About weapons, there are some haks already done with them, but armors, never saw a medieval-ish armor in the game except the 1.69 one.

Is there a topic in the forum to ask about a theme for CCC work, please ?

I think about a farmer theme with new farm animals, crops, tools, etc...

If I might suggest, there are a few free 3D models available that have a farm theme. It might be useful for somebody to port a collection of those to MDL.

Some examples:

Good catch.

It looks like these are obj files that I can work with, but I'll take a closer look later. I can add the placeables to the DA hak I'm working on now, and try to do the animals after, when I try to start working on skinmeshing. A few people have been asking for a better cow I know.

Adding a couple themes to the "future possible themes" list. I took the liberty to write actual descriptions that are relatively short summaries.  Better to save long lists of possible content and links to inspirational images/pages for when a theme actually starts.

Also, since the challenge has pretty much always been about creating new content, I would lean very far away from just importing existing models from free download sites or those pulled from other games (even if tons of work is put in to correctly animate them for NWN). I'm not talking legality issues, it's more about the spirit of the CCC...make new stuff, not simply add stuff others have made to NWN. I think content from existing sources (or even, "let's all collect anything out there that fits this month's theme") just doesn't fit the CCC.

A Farmer's Life: A farmer theme... More realistic farm animals, ground-based crops (tomato, strawberry, water melon, potato, cabbage, etc.), farmer's clothing (hats, work gloves, outfits), more farm tools, placeables (sheds, tools, outhouses, barns), crop growing/harvesting scripts, new farm sounds, or even prefab objects (to help builders quickly flesh out NWN farms). Give those thousands of farming commoners more to work with!

{ Suggested by:  Anamorphose }

Historically Inspired Arms & Armors: Armor and weapons inspired by (and looking more like) actual medieval war equipment. More accurate looking armor and weapon models, prefabbed items with accurate descriptions and possibly adjusted stats, whatever. Basically stuff that will provide a fighter/paladin/whoever with gear that is more realistic medieval-themed than fantasy medieval-themed.

{ Suggested by: Wallack & MannyJabrielle }

We've had a challenge that brought us hobbit holes and other fun stuff for the "wee folk" - how about a theme that does the same for the "other" wee folk (goblins and kobolds). Goblin and kobold huts and hovels, weapons, pets, etc.

Wouldn't a goblin pet be a pet-rock?  People usually have pets less intelligent overall than themselves, and can't get much less intelligent than a goblin '<img'>

Kobold sorcerers with little lizard familiars would rock though!

I believe that one is already in the current poll as "Not Just Walking XP".

Ruinous Intent (aka Ruins)

Not necessarily just buildings. Could include such things as ruined pictures (or even pictures of ruins) shattered statues, despoiled books and scrolls with missing passages, tornado blasted trees etc. Inspired by this group on Pinterest.

I think that one (Ruinous Intent) could be combined with Filth. They have somewhat similar themes and together they allow more room for variety.

I was checking out other custom content challenges other modding communities host, and had Idea:

They commonly have a the topic called "a blast from the past", were you make any item from an old CCC theme.

Since we have the idea of making annual updates, perhaps an end of the year "annual update challenge" were the any of the last years topic's content is open for submissions and/or updated?

(or even any prior year should someone have a descent submission)

Would also be a great opportunity to complete works that you didn't quite get time to complete, as well...

IE, in the spirit of the old Dragon Magazine Annuals '<img'>

As a Christmas theme it might be called "the Never's of Winters past"...
