How do I vote for the 'Holdable Objects' option?  That sounds like fun!

When it gets added to the monthly CCC theme poll, just vote.

Until then, you can patiently wait.  We've gone many months since we added more than 1 new theme to the poll, since I stick to 13 options each month and any option that gets at least 1 vote returns for the next month's consideration.

Or, if you're not patient, there's nothing keeping you from starting your own new holdable objects content.  '<img'>

Theme suggestion:

The Small Details: It's often the small details that can bring a setting to life. Create items, placeables, creatures, etc. that use small details to help bring a part of a kingdom/village/event to life for players.  A worn hunter's knife with an interesting history.  A merchant's child that really wants (or really doesn't want) to follow in his/her parent's footsteps. A book detailing an event that's just a minor footnote in a place's story.  An unusual statue with a tragic backstory.  A crumbling crypt devoid of treasure and monsters, but steeped in historical references (perhaps with said references are further fleshed out in a nearby prefab library area). An NPC storyteller that is full of stories that may (or may not) have some bearing on anything related to the PCs. Randomized NPC/item/placeable descriptions taken from pre-written tables of descriptions. Small placeable objects for filling shelves in libraries/shops/houses/etc. (nicknacks, ships in bottles, small statuettes, whatever).

I would like to see "kids". While scaling has helped a little with older kids, there really aren't enough kid models and kid "stuff" in the game. Kids are an important part of a lot of great adventures. They can be innocent bystanders, eager wards and apprentices, and even super creepy villains.

If there is interest, I'd like to propose a "Western" theme, as in the wild, wild west of cowboy fame.

But not just vanilla spaghetti western: a western setting with horror and magic elements. Fire elemental-powered locomotives, undead indians, magic gold panning, +4 gattling guns, haunted saloons, half-orc prostitutes, demonic telegraph switches, arcane aliens, &c.

Cool idea, I would call that Topic "Wild, Wild, West", "Cowboys and Dragons", "Tex Arcana" or something like that '<img'>

Just don't forget the Deadwood Tilset, Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane NPC NPCs...

The genre is usually referred to as "Weird West", and I would be all for that as well as the kids theme, especially teenage NPCs considering there is a bit of a void between children and adult.

Part of my 4e stuff has 3 young teen adventurers. Once I get that done, you guys can feel free to do whatever you want with the models. They are not dynamic, but do have 5 varieties of each person (like diablo does with gear strength stages). Two are twins, so they look alike, except they are different class, so they have totally different gear.

Inspired by Classic Video Games - Build something from, or inspired by, another video game! Sky's the limit! Make a suit of clothing and cloak that resembles Mario or Luigi. Perhaps model Cloud's Buster Sword from FF7. A Hylian shield from the Legend of Zelda. Create the classic Imp monster from Doom, complete with fireball throwing. No room for Halo here. Dust off your old Earthworm Jim cartridge and make that "Queen Slug-For-A-Butt" model you've always been dreaming about. Script out your own Lost Woods maze from Legend of Zelda, or maybe make a new 3d model for ol' King Hippo from Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Go Greco-Roman werewolf with Altered Beast.

I have an idea for a new theme.

"Open sea and rivers"

contains: placeables and creatures to be found above the sea/river surface, ships, boats, vessels, rafts anything that sails, seafood, some new open water tiles, a sea skyboxes, swimming systems and animations, fishing systems and animations.

More specific examples: crashed ship remains (ship parts, cargo - barrels, chests), floating bodies (dead or alive), whirlwind placeables, kraken and octopus designed in way they fit the walkable water tiles, sea storm skybox, open sea skybox, sea cave tiles, cliff tiles, rock above/under sea surface tiles etc.

Its something I needed and couldnt find when I was working on the ship battle system, Ive done some work on the tiles but havent finished... yet.

So... I have kind of a general question, if I may. Suppose one were, say, somewhat versed in building models in MDB format using Blender and then adding them as placeables in NWN2, but had absolutely no experience with MDL format and lacked knowledge about using those models as placeables in NWN.  '' Could one build a NWN2 placeable along a CCC theme and (very politely) ask for a port of a .blend file to NWN? Or is one simply SoL? It seems like it would be enjoyable to participate occasionally, but my plate is pretty full working with NWN2.

<crossing his arms...>

Sounds great to me :-)

You might check out (A)Ssymetric's Neverblender plugin for Blender as well and export MDL files directly. (Edit: seeing your comment on that page, I assume you already have, but it's still nice to link :-)

I keep meaning to shift to Blender, but... other things keep importuning me :-P

If nothing else, I am always up for collaboration :-) (I.e. you do all the hard stuff and I grin and say "Ta-dah!" ;-)
