quick question - module hosting
« on: August 29, 2015, 06:42:27 pm »

When hosting a module for multiplayer, do the clients who join need to install the music, movies and other miscellaneous files to play the module? What about if the host has those files but the player does not?

I am thinking no, the player does not "need" the movie, music, portrait, etc type file, but DOES need any hak, erf and tlk files.

Is this correct?

Thanks!

~

Those will simply NOT display for player without them I think.

As long as the player has NWN they should see the in game server fine. If you have added additions to the server (HAKS) then the players will need those same HAKS to join the server. If you have added new content via the override folder, your players will also need the files from your override folder in their override folder, or they will not see the thing that is being overridden correctly.

Awesome. I kinda figger'd the clients did not *need* those " added immersiveness " files, but I weren't fersure. I haven't performed an actual test but am feeling confident things will be fine.

Thanks for the prompt and helpful responses.
