Familiars and multiclassing?
« on: July 30, 2015, 08:02:11 pm »

Do familiars level up and their abilities scale up based on total character levels, or caster level only?  Say, for instance, I wanted to play an arcane archer, and I only took 1 level of Wiz; would the familiar be able to pick locks / disable traps at level 30/40?

Thanks.  On an unrelated note, does druid spellcasting progress while taking shifter levels? (i.e., can a 10Druid/7Shifter cast 9th level spells?)

Not as well, even some spellabilities from shapes will use druid level over shifter level for damage calculations, however the dragon breath damage calculation stacks the levels but thats and exception

None of the class features stacks with other class features, not even animal companion from ranger and druid or familiar from sorcerer and wizard. If there is and exception other than dragon breath I dont remember it.

EDIT: set the casting progression for shifhter with druid wouldnt be hard to modify though. Tell me if you are interested about this and I will tell you whic 2da and how to modify.
