Gauntlet comparison for henchmen
« on: December 22, 2014, 05:01:38 am »

Im a cleric lvl 6 and my henchmen is Tomi.. right now his dex is at 21 with a 5 modifier and his parry is at 19. Is it better to use +1 dex gauntlets or use the other pair with +6 parry.. i was thinking about using the parry for better survival as my dire wolf deals most the dmg. What do u suggest and please explain why. Also as a newbie cleric what are good lvl 2 and 3 spells to use.. im def not swapping out my dire wolf and darkfire as both are crucial to my survival. My direwolf is very valuable buffed. Any expert tips is appreciated thanks for reading.

IMO having a 22 dex is better than adding parry. I don't think parry works as it is described to.

Parry does not even work properly in NWN, don't ever take it.  I doubt the henchman even uses it either, you have to go into a special mode to even use it.

Shield of Faith, Aid, Bless, Magic Weapon (if you don't have a +1 weapon yet), Magic Vestment, and Bull's Strength are all good spells.  Negative Energy Protection can be good if you're worried about draining attacks as well.
