What module are you playing right now?
« on: October 20, 2014, 08:18:15 am »

I am currently just about to attempt Eye of The Beholder for the second time.  First time round, I fell down two pits in quick succession, was obviously on a level with a difficulty level far above my characters capability, and couldn't find the way back up.

Right now I am playing Almraiven by Fester Pot. It is different sort of module and I really like the style. Very immersive.

I am also dabbling with Tales of the Sundering - Prelude.

Finished EotB, but had to look at the walkthrough too many times, proving I'm not as smart as I like to think I am.

Swordflight 1 was quite good, but Swordflight 2 is proof positive that a sequel can be superior, at least in this case for me.

I seem to be spending a fortune on potions, and died when I was pounced upon by 3 water elementals at one point.  Still, I'm really enjoying this module at present.

I think I have played most of the top 50 NWN modules.

Right now I am giving NWN2 one last play-through before deleting it. NWN1 forever!

Finished NWN2 OC recently (meh).

Just finished the first act of SoZ (more meh).

I just finished Saleron's Gambit (<-great!), and I'm going to give Swordflight 1 a whirl tonight.  Glad to see it get a good word here!

Other recent plays for NWN1: Almraiven (haven't tried Shadewood yet) and Sanctum of the Archmage I.  Both were outstanding, albeit extremely different from one another!

Just finished the Grimshade Run.  This was the second attempt.  Played with a 6 con Elven sorcerer based on Michael Moorcock's Elric.  First time, I bypassed all the monsters and traps using copious amounts of invisibility, knock and find trap spells, not realising you needed some of the cursed sentry weaponary to buy passage, and got stuck on the elemental plane.  Enjoyable module.

Just finished Gladiatrix 1 and 2.  Reached level 12 and 16 respectively with same character.  Second one was not quite so linear as the first which I prefer, although it had a couple of bugs.

There is a potential 'cheat' in there.  You need to play a human female fighter with at least 12 charisma at level 1, and there are plenty of charisma boosting items, so it pays to have a class that benefits from that attribute.  The first time I played, I simply went fighter/paladin.  Remembering that it is possible to become evil, I immediately took the quest that allowed me to do so at the start.  Thus I went from LG L4 Fighter/L8 Paladin to LE L4 Fighter/L8 Paladin, then taking the next two levels as Blackguard.  You can pay to revert your alignment back to good.  The sword you get for that quest to become evil easily pays for that cost.  Two levels of Blackguard really boosts this characters ability, with poison use, bonus saves, strike good and a strength spell.  Having reverted back to Paladin from level 15 onwards, the loss of a spell (up to 26) and +2 damage when striking evil is more than mitigated by the saving throw increases alone. Of course a Paladin should not have taken that quest in the first place but the temptation of that power was too great.  My bad.

If you still need help, I recently finished this series, and will post if you want me to.

Might be better suited for this forum: http://forum.bioware...um/180-modules/

I'm currently playing Showdown on Spindle Street and B2, both by Udasu, both not yet released.

Before that I have played Eryndlyn.

Am just about to give up on Eryndlyn.  Puzzles might be easy for some, but beyond me.  Cannot get beyond an 'electrical' barrier.

Still, gained a holy avenger hammer of thunderbolts only usable by LE Dwarf Paladins?  May have to bung that in a persistant chest for a character concept.

The lack of walkthrough, combined with large spaces and dudes dropping x amount of useless crap might make for a decent puzzle for high IQ types, but for normal people.

Even worse, I've been beyond this stage but can't work it out this time.

Puzzles in Eryndlyn are like that -> sometimes they don't work or require a sequence that needs to be guessed (with missing clues etc.)

Hmm, which door are you speaking about exactly? Is it in near the dwarven tomb with those guardians and hammer/armor for LE Dwarfs?  I remember having to pull a chain.. but in the need I think I jumped past the door with console command unable to find answer in toolset I think.
