How to change henchmen portraits?
« on: January 06, 2013, 08:36:14 am »

How do you do this in the OC and expansions (like in BG1 and BG2)? I imagine that you rename the tga files you want to use as replacements and place them in the override folder. But I can't find anywhere whether or not this isaccurate, nor can I find the names of said files anywhere.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know the file extension for portrait files but the base file name will be the same as the name of the portrait you can see in the character's blueprint.

You are correct that a file of the same name in the override folder will replace the game's default for that file.  But be aware that this is only local.  If you play online, nobody else will see your changes unless they have the same override files.

Use NWN Explorer to locate and export tgas in a module.  You can use the toolset to identify each henchie tga ID beforehand.  Be certain to modify all size versions of the tga (IIRC there are 4 of them).
