Yep, it didn't take long after this got sorted. I suspect it will be easy for new servers to get listed there as well. It's a very good resource for the present state of things.

I tried out xfire, and had a weird problem with their client. It will recognize me as logged in to my server after it's installed, but after I restart my desktop it no longer launches NWN or recognizes that I've logged into the game. Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls don't help resolve this.

No clue what is up with that m8. It works flawlessly for me and a couple 1000 other people. You might want to post on their tech support boards:
http://forums.xfire....chnical-Support

Despite the fact that it is freeware, they still seem quite responsive to their "consumers" concerns. Now that... is customer service...

P.S. Can we get a stickey please?

P.P.S. Aelis, can you remove the Av3 server status link from one of your previous posts please? (edit: Thank you.) I want no illusions about me wanting this information stickied, being due to my server having a link here. I would love lightfire to add us to his stickied post on the PW boards, but that's not what this thread is about. This thread is to let players know they can still get a more than less complete server list from Xfire, despite gamespy service being discontinued. And it absolutely should be stickied if bioware refuses to make their own announcement as to this fact, and list alternatives (like Xfire).

Xfire worked really well for me. You don't even need a NWN multiplayer account/password. As a test I have entered a new password each time and it just times out looking for the old Gamespy list and pushes you right through.

With the BioWare master server gone for over a year, there is nothing checking your password against your player ID. You can enter any password you want with or without xfire, and it doesn't matter.

Multiplayer servers have moved on to their own internal security, which associates your player name with your CD keys so only you can log in there with your ID.

If the server's IP address changes will XFire still recognize it? or does it go by server name?

I am not sure, but I think every time the IP address changes you might have to go through the process of getting it re-listed again.

xfire finds servers by IP address, which makes it not the best solution to rely on for server listings.

I think all current options for the server list use IP address. It might not be the best solution, but it's better than none. There is also a web based server list here:

Apparently there is another alternative avaliable here. I haven't tried it yet as Xfire has been working for me, but good to have another option.
