Your favorite premium module?
« on: June 03, 2012, 05:15:06 pm »

I've been thinking about which premium module is the best, and as I haven't found anything about it on google, I decided to ask here. '<img'>

So, what's your favorite premium module and why? Now, that everyone can play them, I guess more players will be able to answer.

As for me, I think all of them are great, but my favorite would be probably Infinite Dungeons. It's the one module that's truly replayable. The story is pretty weak, but there are plenty of modules, premium or not, with good story and not many with such replay value as ID (Good VS Evil is a notable exception, but again, it doesn't feature any story really).

My second favorite would be Wyvern Crown of Cormyr, as it features rideable horses, the only official module to do so. The only module in which riding skill is kind of useful, if you ask me. '<img'>

The worst premium module in my opinion is ShadowGuard. Well, "worst" is not a good word, since I like the module anyway, just not as much as the others. It was basically too short and was over before it really started, I would say.

My fav is Infinite Dungeons, just because it is an "endless" hackfest.  It is also easy to "Mod" with an Override folder...

WCoC is however the best one of them all.  It is # 1 in all respects...just that it doesn't have much replay value IMHO.  DoD (Darkness over Daggerford), the Premium Mod that never made it, is very, very good!

Never finished PotSC, so I really can't comment on it.

PotSC is my favorite; enjoyed the unique settings and humor. WCoC was second; only because of the Lag Monster encountered in the city shop (it may be wise to spread the wealth around, and not place inventory into one store).

But I still hold ShadowGuard as my favorite origin tale; like to use it as a seabaring preface to PotSC. And while it did not make it into the stable of Official titles, AL3: Tyrants of the Moonsea helped erase all the bad feelings I felt from playing an hour of Hillsfar years earlier. Terrific work!

Pirates of the Sword Coast.  Would have said Darkness over Daggorford, but it was not officially a premium mod, as they got screwed over by Atari.
