I think some of those questions might be answered here, but I'll answer what I can.

The File Name field is what your file will be renamed to.  It's the name of the file we'll be downloading.  It replaces the name of what you upload.  It doesn't have to match, but if you like the file name you gave it (and you probably do), then just put that same name in there.  For best results, it should probably contain the name of your mod.

The extension is unchanged from the file you uploaded, and you don't need to specify it in the file name field.  I agree it would be nice if it showed the extension on the download link on the file page.  To let people know which extension it is, I recommend writing it in the file description field.

BBcode formatting is on the wiki linked above, on this page.

When you submit the file, it uploads it directly from the file you selected with the browse button, regardless of what you wrote in the file name field.

If you upload a text file into the file page, it'll prompt the user to download it.  There's an "upload readme file" option for text files, which will display it in the browser when the user clicks it.

Images that you upload under the Images tab for your file will appear in the browser if clicked, and show up in the image strip at the top of the entry's page.  If you upload them into the file area, they'll probably be prompted to download them.

There's also a separate Image Share section elsewhere on the site that's not connected to your file entry where you can also upload images.

It's great to see you guys have a Nexus site now. That was very generous of Robin.

Just for the record: if someone wants to put any/all of my NWVault content up on the Nexus to bolster the NWN files section a little, you're absolutely welcome to do so.

(Although I could make much, much better stuff nowadays. Tempting...)

               Look who's alive!

I'd definitely start with LETO if nobody else took care of that already. Although, some people modified it for NWN2, which means we'd need their approval too, probably

Thanks! I've already started adding what I have put together for Neverwinter Nights but during an upload of a HAK, I received a 500 Internal Server Error. I had to reupload the file a second time.

Just thought I'd pass it along.

EDIT: And already it's a mess.

I placed everything under Modules Category but I didn't see the root name and dumped everything I uploaded to Neverwinter Nights 2. So I have a suggestion.

Add NWN1 or NWN2 after the category options. I'd be surprised if I'm the only one who will upload NWN material under the NWN2 categories.

Thankfully, it was just a matter of changing the category after it was uploaded. That was nice!

Another question. Tagging the entry.

I don't want members to tag the module but I'd like to myself. How is this done? When I attempt to tag the module through my logged-in admin page via Tag This File, it takes me to the TAGs page under the module.

Then I click one of the options and receive, "The author has turned off tagging for this file."

When I check the FAQ on tagging, it says tagging files for members can be turned off but the author can tag the file as they wish.

FP!

I don't know if there's a way to disallow other users' tags entirely, but your tags are worth 99, and others are worth 1, so you can set something down to -99 if you want to ensure it's never approved, or use your vote to veto any tag that someone else might have applied.  I think you'd need to ask a moderator on the Nexus if there's a way to disallow them entirely.

Ah, you've added more info.  So it apparently is possible.  I think repeating your query on the Nexus help area would get you some moderator help, or message one directly.  You should also voice your suggestion about the category list there, as I don't think any of the Nexus staff know about this thread.

I agree with Casa that both the Vault and the Nexus can co-exist because they both have different qualites. The Vault is valuable for all that stuff that will never make it over to Nexus. The Nexus increases NWN's access to other gamers.

I've posted some of my work to both. Thanks for making this happen.
