He is a great man, even now taht he left. He did well. We had fun, and that fun is not over yet.
Thanks to you, Beyondthepale, and to Maximus as well.
Enjoy anything coming your new way of life.
You've always been masters at handling fun after all...

[EDIT]
I wish I could have left a message at Urk's IGN link above...
only to register there doesn't seem to be possible for a simple human being with only one brain such as myself.

Knight and Urk: Last I knew, the web mail form doesn't actually work, so you won't get a password reset from it.  I had to email BTP directly to get my access back.  Now I guess you need to email Maximus.

Maximus has updated the vault! He said he would't let the NWN-community down.

Instead of opening another topic, maybe I can bump this and throw in a link that is somewhat related to the recent Vault news: http://social.biowar...1/index/9638982
Just an idea that came up, maybe some of you have an opinion on the matter.

No longer just an idea!  Robin Scott setup a fully functional Neverwinter Nexus for NWN1 and 2.  It hasen't official launched yet, but modders can upload content.

While the vault has served us well IGN has already annouced that while they will continue hosting, they will no longer be servicing or updating the vault.  Robin managed to get this up in 3 days, can you image is what got that type of commit from IGN.  Nexus is current the largest hub for custom RPG mods, which gives a lot more exposure to new releases.  Hope to see you all there.

The Vault was updated on the 9th of March, that's pretty current.

I'd still urge any modder to upload their mods to the new Nexus site. It's not really an either/or question, just use both and give the new place a chance, it's a great attempt to revive the community again a bit. Look at the thread in the NWN2 forums for further details.

We already have a decent influx of mods from the NWN2 community, but so far not a single NWN1 upload as far as I can see... it'd be sad if the place turned out to be NWN2 only.

By "updating the Vault", they meant the available features, underlying coding, and design.  And as Casadechrisso said, it's not about a competition, it's about a place with new eyes to see your work.  Already I've seen many people on the Nexus who stated that this opening is causing them to reinstall NWN.

I'd really like some guides on how to upload our content and link modules with HAKs - similar to how it's done on NWVault.

I'll have to go in-game to get a few screen shots of my modules to upload them along with the rest of the content. Already have an account from Skyrim, so I'm good to go!

I've requested an introductory guide to uploads as well, but file uploads start from the "files" dropdown menu at the top, and you choose "add a file."  Fill out the information, and your mod page is created.  Then just add your files, screenshots, and tags to it from the management window.  Whatever you add is available for download immediately.

What do you mean by linking them with HAKs?  Do you mean HAKs that you're not including on your download page?  There is a management option for linking to external required files, if so.

The file size limit per-file is 1GB.

Well for when adding a new file, I find one option confusing, despite understanding what it means on its own.

File Name - what is this used for on the Nexus? Is this the name of what I want to call the module itself? Is it the .zip file name? Does the name have to match that of the .zip file? Is an extension required? Could I call it ABC123.ZIP but upload it as 123ABC.RAR?

On the long description it mentions BBCode is available yet I'm unable to find any reference to how to use it in the description. Examples of every BBCode available that one can use on the Nexus in the long description would be helpful.

When one clicks submit, how does the file get uploaded? Does it look for the File Name I've entered on my system and upload it?

When I look at some of the NWN2 entries under Files, I see a file name but no file extension. Some players like to download .rar vs. .zip files. Can we have the file extension available under the Files menu system? What about .txt files? If a user clicks on the file that is only .txt, will it open up for them in their browser or do they receive a download prompt? What about graphic images uploaded to the Nexus as well? Loaded in their browser or prompted as a download?

FP!
