Hi guys.
Which game would a friend and I have more fun playing coop? Should we play through the OC's or go straight to modules? If the OC's are bad or not as good for the coop experience can you please reccommend some modules that would be good for two people coop that will take us to max level. Thanks guys.
If its a choice between the two, i'd say NWN1 has the advantage, and i mainly do NWN2 things. It's easier to use, and the official campaigns did not completely ignore it. Has less system resources required as well ( lot less work being done graphics wise in the older game as well, but NWN2 really is not the best optimized game ). Also has a lot longer period of support and more content by a large margin, enough so that you really could just ignore any other game and just play new modules in NWN1.
But i'd say if you ignore NWN2 you're missing out on a very good game as well, with it's own modules and features which are completely different, and its also much better than at release, especially if you take advantage of the extender that skywing did for the game. The OC should not be done in coop play, the MOTB is iffy and SOZ is much more ideally designed for it as it's a sandbox game. Custom modules which are listed as MP compatible are probably a better experience as i don't think the developers even tried play testing MP at all. Some of the community content is just amazing, with the Zork recreation, bouncy rocks module set in ravenloft, well there is a lot of things out there worth trying which will make your jaw drop.
To me its less about the tools used, than about the vision of the modules author, his execution of the concept, and how well he used those tools to tell his story.
For specifics i'd review the following two lists, if something excites your fancy, well you can get NWN1 on Direct2Drive and NWN2 on steam and have both for less than the original cost of the first expansion of either game. Those lists tend to have info which shows which modules are better due to vault rankings or awards.
