Maybe. Personally, I'd just settle for everything to be the way it was before the hacking.

Keep in mind that if Bioware abandons NWN and people never get their keys back, they can get new keys for only $9.99USD.

I'm pretty sure they made no such promise.  In fact, I remember some disclaimer to the effect that on-line storage of the information was not to be considered as your primary mode of keeping track of your keys.

Ok so even something as simple as emailing them asking for the keys is harder than one might imagine cos the email links to EA and its darn hard to find a contact via email on the EA site using their useless FAQ section!!

Official support for NWN ended when Bioware was "consumed" by EA and that includes any historical web sites sponsored by the original Bioware staff that may have been present at that time.  Occasionally, one of the former staff members will stop to post a status report on the authentication and legacy forum... and you can hang around hoping, waiting, for things to be re-established... here... today... 11 years after the game was first released.

or

You can simply DL a new version and take up wherever you left off when you were a regular NWN player.  It all depends on how highly one covets that 10 USD that is standing between them and playing a game that they love.  At least there IS an option unlike most intimacy.                You can order a venti quad long pour frapucinno at Starbucks or spend your $10 on endless hours of NWN MP.

I know which I'd choose.

At the least it'd be nice if they just informed us that they were NOT going to put the authentication servers back up.

Agreed.  This shows lack of respect and care from "new" BW.  About EA I will not even waste words - have they ever had any respect for customers - other than in respect to taking money from them?

Actually yes. In EAs ancient past they were actually something pretty special. But those days are LONG gone. EA is now the gaming industry's poster boy for corporate hubris and greed.

I love the way this thread just won't die.

For the record, yes I'm still pissed at you Bio, and yes... I'm still boycotting you along with your corporate masters.

Activision might disagree with you.  Aside from that, agree completely.
