Domain Spell Bug?

A cheap way to be able to identify almost anything witout even spending one pt in Lore is to keep a couple of rings of insight with you.. This is good for up to your level 9 or so (ie, end of chapter 1 in OC).

My Orc Barbarian only has 5 pts in Lore as part of the RDD reqs, and his Intel is 6 (so -2 to Lore). Even with a +1 for 1 lvl of Bard that means he has Lore = 4. BUT the two rings take this to 14. In other words, he can identify anything till almost end of chapter 2. By that time, you may have found a dozen potions of Lore, and now you can identify anything indeed  (but then again imo this over-abundance of potions is an intentional designers flaw).

You spoiled my ultimate test of supreme reflexes!  Now I get Timestop without even a single level in sorc or wiz! '<img'>

...except that with actual Timestop, you get to run around and cast Meteor Swarm while mass-identifying all the stuff in your backpack.  'Image

Try the Multiplayer servers.  On some of them, you can go weeks or even months without seeing a Lore potion or a Ring of Insight.  And on other servers, you might never see them at all.

So it seems that the DM teams of various servers agree with you: boosting Lore is too easy on Single Player, and each Multiplayer server is some DM team's sandbox, so one of the first things they do is put the clamps on stuff that should be uncommon but isn't uncommon in Single Player: Potions of Lore, Healer's Kits +10, any weapon or armor with more than a +3 enhancement, and so on.  Let the player characters seek out other player characters with different fields of expertise for a change.

The Pirate Isles server has a couple of shops that sell Lore potions, two shops that sell Rings of Insight +2 and no Rings of Insight more potent than that.  Lore potions aren't often found in the loot, and Rings of Insight aren't found in the loot at all.  On the other hand, you can bake fenberries into pies which bestow Fox's Cunning when eaten, and fenberries are as common as trees.  So that makes up for the lack of Lore potions and Insight rings.

(Getting a small shot of Experience everytime you bake a fenberry pie is just a bonus.  My cleric has leveled up by baking pies once or twice before, so clearly mighty Umberlee is appeased by her pie-baking prowess.  'Image )
