I've discovered another challenge of playing a Shifter: Henchman and friendly NPCs who "help" my by casting Heal and Restoration spells on me, un-shifting me.

My henchmen have advanced options relating to tactics, but there are no options to tell my cleric henchman to just don't heal me.  I'm getting rid of her at first opportunity, though I'd feel bad about abandoning her in the middle of a desert wasteland at the moment.

During the final battle with the central villain in Act III, some helpful friendly cleric nearby who was not a henchman cast Lesser Restoration on me just as I engaged the villain, and I have no idea what prompted that.  I wonder if the AI sees my shifted shape as a negative effect that needs curing.

Polymorph effects should not be stripped.  This seems module specific.

Based on that suggetion, I disabled the EMS.hak in the module.  I shifted and tried a Heal potion, and it didn't un-shift me.  So it looks like it was specific to this module using EMS.

I'm tired of EMS now and keeping it disabled.  I was happy to try to play the module as intended, and it's intended to use EMS, and accepted the challenge of getting through lots of tough combats without using a healing potion on myself.  But even after I've dumped my cleric henchman, there are still to many encounters in which I'm forced to team up with friendly NPCs beyond my control, and those friendly NPCs often include clerics who very helpfully unload their Heal and Restoration spells to unshift me as soon as I engage in combat in one of my Shifter forms.

It was not intended to use EMS.  It was developed on its own and teamed up with EMS as a testing ground for the EMS, but clearly allows for play both with and without EMS.  I, personally have little to say for EMS, as it, like many other "bug fixes" of the time, tries to update NWN to DnD 3.5.  But even there, as you have shown, it can still regard the natural shifting ability of the shifter to be a magical enchantment that a curative spell could remove (like lycanthropy).
