Hmm, is it just the NWN accounts or this particular social.bioware account?
Social.bioware.com accounts are not affected. Only the "classic" site was breached. Unfortunately this is where our CD keys were stored.

And of course, you need them to install the game.
Yes,
you need keys to install the game, but even if the mothership is
inaccessible the install will continue. From what I understand, GoG
includes a common set of keys in their install so the the game bypasses
the key entry screen. The only NWN players this affected are
those playing on multiplayer servers and only those servers that have
enabled the option to only allow players on while the Master Server is
responding.
As an NWN server operator, we depend on the Master
Server authentication to ensure that the people logging in are entitled
to the characters in their servervault.
Yes. GoG.com users won't have any problems. Steam users purchasing NWN2 may not be so lucky (I don't know if NWN2 still does an online authentication during install or not).
Unfortunately lot of older users are also having problems. A number of people have posted in regards to reinstalling the game but being unable to retrieve their keys already. Peeps: take 5 minutes when you do an install to create a notepad file with all your CD keys on it and store it someplace safe. I have such a file on all my rigs and one in dropbox for good measure.
@Plasma: THAT explains why I have so much trouble with PWs. I have three different rigs with three different CD keys (so I can have friends over to game or test builds with multiple characters).
