               You're wrong. It is.

Massively. Check.

Multiplayer. Check.

Online. Check.

I know some will protest against the massive part but you can't. Cause players WILL be able to see any other player...even though probably most combat will be instanced.

Instancing stuff isn't uncommon in other MMO's as well....so there it is again. MMO is a really broad term and I think people should avoid using the "this is not an MMO" statement as much as possible.

I think what might be the problem instead is that some people have a very rigid, or limited, if you will, view of what an MMO can be.

It gives that feel because it seems to be that.

Do the kids really need yet another D&DO / D&D Daggerdale ?

Appearently they do....

Yes, please!  Thank you!

(I'll pretend to be a kid at age 33 just because hearing about D&D Neverwinter made me giggle and all giddy like a kid again!)

Cryptic is calling it "co-operative online play."  Despite that, the fact remains it still meets the requirements to also be labeled an MMO.  As well, it fits as an MMORPG.

               It's not an MMORPG... it's a B.O.R.I.N.G.

i might have seen this wrong but it looks like your going to have to buy a monthly subscription too? uhg...Thats one thing i loved about NWN1...No monthly payment. It was perfect. I dont mind the newer graphics really...just as long as it still has that same feel the first one had (I never played NWN 2)

It seems like they are just trying to turn it into WOW which breaks my heart.

I'm reserving judgement until it comes out and I actually get to play it.

Thanks for the link. Yeah that game almost looks more interesting than the original upcoming Neverwinter game..lol.

Hmm..wonder where they got this idea from...Bioware maybe :-P

That's what I though too.  Then I saw some material for something named along the lines of "Tiny adventures, D&D" for facebook which may have been some sort of test bed for the HoN game.  Not sure.  They pulled tiny a while back.

4th edition, eh? Interesting... That edition has the worse multi-classing rules ever, belonging only up one class? Hah! It's called MULTI-classing. Mini rant over. Please don't be another DDO clone, all we want is a decent 3.5 roleplaying game.

Matter of taste I guess.  I haven't had enough exposure to 4e to make a judgement but I like what I've seen so far.  But seeing D&D evolve from Basic Edition on makes you appreciate what each addition does well and poorly.  I loved the  expansion of skills and talents in 3e, but found the multiclassing was more like multiple personality disorder.  From my initial views of 4e it looks like they've handled both of these well.  We will see.

I guess my biggest gripe with 4e is sort of "degendering" spells and talents into powers.  Its only semantics but I just have a hard time seeing a fighter with a power.  Reminds me of comic book superheroes.

NWN3 will succeed or fail based on the toolset alone. If there's as much freedom as was allowed in NWN1&2, the community will be good and growing for a long while - that's how NWN1 has stayed afloat for nine years now (yay!) and I hope Cryptic/EA/Hasbro have learned that from their predecessors. However, they could easily ruin their chances if the toolset only allows for creation within the city of Neverwinter. The appeal and spirit of NWN rests in the ability to play, create and share new worlds, and I really hope that continues.

You won't see me in-game, but I wish the developers all the best to do justice to the third game. This was part of my childhood and I hope it continues on a path close to where it started.

Another franchise ruined. Mind you - IMO - it was ruined with NWN2.
