1/ I do not want my players server listed like that.

When I said "..to get you off my back" I said it jokingly. Notice the smiley. No, this is a true proposal. Lately I have given a couple of servers, that I am frankly not at all interested in, opportunity to be listed in the guild, for the sole reason that they asked nicely and with the proper information needed.

I have no bitterness towards NWN2 - it is a thing of the past for me.

What would be of interest, and would unite the communities IMHO, is to create an Open Source Framework that could "plug" both NWN2 and NWN into it.  Able to use resources from both games.

After all, NWN2 was supposed to run NWN Mods before that landed on the cutting room floor.

That would be something interesting, wouldn't it?

I think it would be a huge step forward, if one could unite the party mode of NWN2 with what we have with NWN.  The targeting template for spells, and perhaps a few other things from NWN2.  I am not so happy with the graphical "form" of NWN2 - especially the models, animations, etc are truly horrid IMHO.  I prefer NWN to NWN2 in that regards.  Would be nice to have the piece armor coloring and customizing that we have in NWN for NWN2 ingame, not just in the toolset.

Having the Outdoor toolset feature of NWN2 for NWN.  I would like that.

An Open Source Framework that could use whatever one wanted from both games.  I would find that very intriguing.

Dude I've followed your posts for a LONG time. The waters may run deep but they are certainly not still. You're still harboring some anger, but I'm glad to hear you're thinking in terms of working with the NWN2 folks. The external framework idea is, indeed, awesome.

You judge but are wrong. WebShaman is pretty much like me in regards to NWN2.
We were oncw angry but has long past, but NWN2's truths for us remain.

Frankly, NWN2 to me is nothing but a ghost, a long forgotten aberration and it will remain so.

Incendiary and subjective.  It suggests that the opposite may be true here - that I have moved on, but others perhaps still dwell on the past here.

Much of what I see "suggested" for the Communities is in reality a poorly hidden desire to see more for one, at the expense of the other.  Because as has been mentioned and proven, there simply is not enough time and resources to concentrate on both games at the same time as things currently are.

To unite the Communities in a common effort, one has to pitch something that appeals to BOTH of them, something that is beneficial to both without being detrimental to one or the other.

I think something along the lines that I have mentioned would provide just that.  This is, I believe, what united (somewhat) the BG & BGII folks way back then.

I just want to mention a couple of things here. I received NWN deluxe in 2006 (or was it 2007 ?) and played it on and off for three years. Awesome. Then, in august 2010, I discovered the ongoing community. Great ! People still love this game ! But lo, I can't play it much because it's installed on my brother's pc, not patched, and I'll have little time during the year to deal with that.

So here I am, waiting for this summer to be able to properly play it. But I'm a solo player, so you won't hear too much from me. But you had better still all be kicking around, or I'll be very angry indeed.

And so I would say I'm a small part of the nwn community, but not one that's done much so far. But I don't plan on letting the game go anytime soon.

There probably are some other players like me, don't forget us. I still try to follow the going-ons and have noticed some mods I intend to download...

What is all this doom and gloom, the end is near, NWN2-vs-NWN nonsense!? Come on, crying out that the end is coming isn't gonna make it any better. Drag your friends in kicking and screaming if you have to! '<img'>

same here, i'm a solo player and enjoyed playing NWN, SOU, and HOTU.  NW vault is great, i get to play all these great modules people make.  i sincerely hope that all you great module designers keep creating content, as i see no reason to quit NWN anytime soon.

If anyone wants to promote NWN, just look to the comic stores near you that host classic DND games. I posted a little flyer at the one near me. We're more likely to appeal to some old timers who are familiar with this game system and want a little exploration or roleplaying on the side, at leisure, when it won't take 5+ hours at the table. Not everyone can fit that into a schedule, but may still love the experience of it in a smaller dose.

I prefer hefty overdoses of Mountain Dew - beer gives me gas and makes me sleepy.

If you really want to ensure that, then comment, critique, vote on each module you play. The builders needs feedback more than anything, its what keeps us going on.

I agree with ShaDoOoW. Other than the self satisfaction of exercising my own creativity, I do this for the feedback.

absolutely!  if the module is great or epic, i definitely do vote.  some of my all time favorites: Sands of Fate by John McA; A Dance with Rogues by Valine, just to name a few.

That about sums it all up - feedback is essential.
