I think we should have stayed at 169 members.
Now we will have to reach 1.69.8109 members(or so my update's numbers say).

Facebook is a powerful social networking site. I am constantly amazed at the power of that.

Cheers NWNers

Just a brief update not only have we hit 350 members but the admin team made
a crucial decision over the past few days. Due to a couple of reasons I will
detail further in this post we are no longer supporting the NWN MMO on the
Facebook Community page.

We are a NWN 1 and NWN 2 focused group. This group was not initially created
for the new neverwinter mmo. After recent posts to the group page we decided
unanimously as the admin team that we wanted to be a NWN 1 and NWN 2 focused
group. We are attempting to eliminate  technical questions regarding the
NWN MMO as well as new advertisement for that game that appears on our facebook
group.  We will always welcome and attempt to help with NWN 1 and NWN 2
technical questions.

When posts about neverwinter MMO are written in the group, we will let them be
as long as they do not spam, do not advertise the game itself (advertising a
server to play is fine, so would asking where to play), ask technical questions
about the game, and the post is serious.

Generally this would mean most posts about neverwinter mmo would stay, but not
be allowed to derail the focus of the group.

I believe I joined the group just after opening a Facebook account.

Is there a way to view a serial list of all current members?    nvm. found the About tab

Is there any way to tell if a poster is involved with NWN1, NWN2 or both.. without checking their individual profile hoping to find that information?

I don't believe there is any marking system for which game you play/prefer. I wish that facebook had some form of system where users could acknowledge what game they play/prefer.

Yep you joined a while back. we are very glad to have all members join. the group functions as another outlet to announce any form of post or question.

Today I accepted the 500th member into our group. We continue to grow, we also have removed the Neverwinter mmo from our group, we no longer support it or allow posting about it.

So 500 for 3-4 years. Adding the factor of word from mouth to mouth... eh, we should be able to hit 10 000 in say 5 more years? '<img'>    ':wizard:' !!!!!

I would love to have that many people just playing the game again. But if it takes another 5 to get the game out to that many people again then Ill be in for the long haul.  '<img'>

Congrats on 500 members!

Ever considered expanding to the gaming oriented social networks like Raptr?

Facebook may be the biggest, but that also works against it in a few ways, like this Guardian article describes. And the company itself makes it worse by forever meddling with their privacy settings. I personally like to keep my social circles separate, and Facebook just makes it very difficult to do that.

One time I thought I was posting in a private group, but then I saw the group admin changed the group to public and it overrides my own visibility settings, so someone outside the group saw what I posted and gave it a 'Like'. Thankfully it wasn't controversial, but it was still a nasty shock, so I find myself gravitating towards the niche social networks nowadays.

According to Raptr there's 3330 active NWN players, so I think there's pretty good potential for an NWN community there. You might be able to reach people who otherwise wouldn't bother to join on Facebook - and vice versa for people on Facebook who wouldn't bother with Raptr of course.

Some of us don't want to join a social network at all, and actively eschew Facebook rather than simply not bothering to sign up.  I prefer simple forums.

I can understand this, our group functions as another source to inform others who may not enjoy going on forums. You get people who dislike one or the other. There is also those who are willing to explore not only social media but also forums.

We are merely another means to spread the word about NWN 1 + 2, we try to keep a positive tone and outlook at all times.  '<img'>

Not saying anything against the groups, just that I've seen a sentiment here and elsewhere suggesting that if people don't sign up to a group on Facebook, then it means that either those people aren't playing the game, or they're not interested in the group's subject, or that they're too lazy to sign up.  Just wanted to represent the ones for whom those don't apply.  My best wishes for the group, of course.
