After all...it is a roleplaying game....there really isn't such a thing as a "bad build"....
Or...you could just follow the charts on the epic builds thingie...but I never did that...and I am still alive after 7 years of playing NWN....
Oh there IS such thing as a BAD BUILD! I believe we at the Epic Character builders had a contest one time. The best of the best also built the worst build EVER! Funny thing it was!
NWN is a fogiving game. You can do alot of it with Recommend! LOL I know players who did just that. If you want to learn, there is lots at the ECB. I knew I should have complied a book! OH well. PM me with any questions you have.
For a cleric/bg, you really want to keep the power up, so I would take 20 cleric straight. I would also go with 16 wisdom and leave it at that until epic (unless you are doing the OC or a mod that ends). Strength clerics are sick (you need 19 wisdom eventually, by 27 is fine for me). Devastating crit with a cleric is INSANITY. It should actually be outlawed! For even more fun, add the PRC! Nah, that's too much fun! BG unfortunately, doesnt add much to the cleric, as the cleric is THE power class. You can do it if you like, and I would do it in epic levels. Take a look at cleric/COT builds at the guild as well. You just have to remember the 5 hide and Cleave instead of Wpn foc(melee) to make the switches. COT has the bonus feats so its a better class for the cleric, but it could be done with BG. You may want to add some rogue aswell. You really need 26ish cleric lvls to make it "strong" though, so that leaves only 14 lvls to tinker with. Note: I wouldnt go 26 straight cleric with a 3 class character! It pushes the other stuff out too late. 20 is perfect.
good luck
