A couple questions
« on: February 12, 2011, 04:13:15 am »

               1. Is the Pirates of the Sword Coast premium module for NWN1 still available for purchase? I meant to get it, but forgot about it until recently and I can't find it anywhere.

2. I usually play as a fighter, but I need some suggestions on classes and builds. Basically, I want a character build that provides:
  • Melee combat (sword and shield)
  • Ranging combat (bow and arrow)
  • Healing magic (cures)
  • Familiars (wolf)
  • Suitable for a merchant/innkeeper background
  • Lockpicking capabilities
Thanks

Pirates of the Sword Coast is no longer available for purchase.  The only premium modules available anymore are those that come with the Diamond edition of NWN.

Sounds like a Rogue/Ranger would work well for you.

Rogue: Open Locks (for lockpicking), Use Magic Device (for accessing healing magic items of all sorts), dexterity-based (good for ranged attacks), would make for a good merchant with ranks in Lore and Appraise (and possibly Bluff and Persuade), lots of skill points for spreading around. (Take this class first for maximum skill points at 1st level.)

Ranger: Animal Companion (at Ranger level 6 to get your wolf), proficient with melee weapons and shields, gains faster in Base Attack Bonus, healing magic (up to cure serious wounds), also has stealth skills that combine with Rogue stealth skills.

Sry, no. Else the rest of us that missed it would have bought it by now along with the Cormyr premium.

Without getting too complicated with multiclass combos to fit the bill, Ranger should suffice.  You'll need at least 6 ranger levels to get a wolf (rangers call them "companions").  Rangers can cross-class open locks so if you need to get higher skill levels than that, you'll need to combine with rogue (or assassin which may not fit your "theme").  Sry, I have no clue what class would make the best merchant except wizards often run magic shops.  edit: ackkk..
