Banshe, I'd like you to give feedback on mine, too, though preferably on the fixed version, obviously. Before I update it again '<img'>

I'd be happy too. As you asked here, I assume it is ok to post it here. As you know, I didn't play the fixed version. Just because it was fixed after the deadline. But be thankful you weren't the fella who forgot to return the starting point to the beginning of his mod before submitting it. At least I could get through yours.

I liked your module and the reason why yours was not chosen was not due to any strong issues. It was more a case of the finalists having done more of this and that. I got a kick out of the fire thing as it was not your usual kind of quest. It was nice how you flipped it.

What I think could have been improved was the connecting of the storyline. It felt a little bit disconnected in that the various bits were not strongly related to the main plot. I didn't get a strong sense that I knew why I was doing the fire thing/the clover thing and the color spray thing as it related to the actual plot of DRM and the Treasure of GOG.

Basically, I found your ideas to be clever but they were difficult ideas to connect to the storyline in a way that did not seem forced.

Put another way, the weak spot was the connection to the contest's plot. Other than that, it is a fine module to be proud of. 'Posted

Cheeseshirecat, I think that's something to do with NWN2, and the Obsidian Expotron for exporting stuff. Expotron (I think) so far doesn't work completely with newer versions of Max.
NOTE: I don't have all the latest info here, and regardless some absolutely INCREDIBLE CC stuff has been and continues to be put out for NWN2, so please don't misconstrue my words to mean CC for that game can't be done or whatnot. It clearly can and is being done, and at an extrememely high quality to boot.

As long as I'm posting here, I'd like to take the time to thank all the entrants to the GoG contest, as well as those involved on both the NWN and GOG side of things. Great contest!

I had fun playing through every submission, and my choices were no indication that another module was 'bad', but rather that certain things about my picks simply stood out to me. Each person who took the time to crack open the toolset, build a module, and submit it, is a winner to me. They've stepped beyond the usual role of a game player, and into the role of Storyteller. And I hope they've learned how fun that can be! I hope this contest leads them on to greater stories, bigger creations, and more fun. Because when a new author releases work to the community, everyone wins.

@Hellfire: Nice! One of the pleasures of this game is seeing something I've never seen before. Never saw that guy!   '<img'>

Regards,
JFK

Oh '<img'> The thing is, there just isn't much of a storyline -- "Go grab the stuff, just take care, THEY are watching for using "illegal" copies (AKA scribed scrolls)", sprinkled with subculture-related humor '<img'>

The "fire thing" is a joke referencing the initial quest from The Bard's Tale game, actually -- even the layout of the dungeon. That's why it is scripted as a cinematic.

Oh, I like that. The "watchers"...  It didn't really come through so strongly though. I think that idea, if you really shoved it in the player's face, would have made your module a much stronger contender. Given it an enigmatic feel with mysterious powers waiting to pounce. 'Posted

Edit: By the way, if anyone else wants feedback, please ask soon. I can give you better answers the more fresh it is in my mind. 'Posted

Hey Banshe and Frith5, do you have any idea how things are going on the GOG side of the contest? Is there a schedule as to when the contest will be over and winners announced?

Yeah, I put what I had time for in the module description, but these crashes completely killed all the journal entries I had for it and all that... Which were the main tool for describing... Like, you were supposed to get a kind of a glossary entry after almost every event...

Well, I can't say it any better than GOG did. They were very impressed by all the finalists...

Check out the announcement:

http://www.gog.com/e...les_spotlight/0

To the four NWN1 finalists: Please PM me an email address to give to the GOG folks. GOG will contact you directly to give you your prizes.

Edit: Pending approval, here are all the winner's files on the vault:

Congratulations to everyone who took part. I am in a state of shock at the moment '<img'>. I never expected to actually win anything. I thought at best to end up in the "play-offs" on the vault.

While the community is in for a feast of short modules on the vault soon, I personally think it would be nice if the people who's mods didn't make it could upload thier versions onto the vault so that we can all play them and if appropriate vote for them. You never know, you may well end up with a HOF for it.

Agreed; I have also started this thread as a centralized place for people to post their creations and receive comments/criticism.

Absolutely. I would be more than happy to see the remaining NWN1 submissions up on the vault too. So by all means, go for it.

Furthermore, I would encourage all of you to play those modules as well. They were all good and entertaining. So you would be missing out on a few good adventures.

As I said before, you guys really stepped up to the plate and entered a healthy amount of quality modules to the contest. Great work!

Edit: Also, check out the comments below the announcement at GOG (link in my previous post). Hopefully you guys will get some NWN1 converts out of this contest. It seems that the submissions have caught quite a few eyes.

Wow, I'm gobsmacked, thank you and congatulations to everyone, that title was not an easy one and I seem to be the only one who cheated and had to resort to another language to get those initials to mean something!  ''
Thanks Banshe and fellow judges and a big thank you to GOG!  ''
