Cin, you truly were the greatest spammer of our time.  Well met, ole boy, and you still look and smell like an old fish.

That's your underwear you're smelling, stone brother. Water's not just for drinking!

Probably some changed their names yes.

Some just didn't make it. Don't remember exactly but it is not that they "got a life" or something...I think it is something else...because this is people that where active just to the change.

I dont think the main reason is that this forum isn't so good. Compared to the old one it is at least more modern and has some more advanced functions. Being logged out all the time is not so fun but that probably originates in that I am behind some crappy firewalls and my system at work is a centralized one which doesn't give the user any power at all.

About people from PW's not coming here it has always been like that so there is not much to do about that.

If you know someone missing from the old forum try to contact them and tell them that this new place is not so bad....

..and some old players have neither moved on nor play less or more..or both.

They lurk awaiting the last glorius pheonix that will arise from NWN ; be it NWNX, or CQ, or Q or CEP or whatever.

Some just post very infrequently as there is very little left to say - especially as there are very few newbies to help out and assist. Especially if you stink like old fish; or more likely real life curtails the love of your hobby. ; )

What? Simon and Garfunkel? A module I didn't play? You wouldn't happen to have a link handy by any chance, WebShaman? ''

So many misconceptions here . . .

1. Underwear? What kinda dwarf wear's prissy panties? Dwarven has twenty-three different words for 'commando', ya know.

2. Water for DRINKING??!!!? By Clageddin's lousy beard! Don't you know what fish DO IN THAT STUFF??!!!

3. Dwarves cannot smell. It is a safety mechanism the race has evolved over the centuries in tunnels and caves, and the 'red meat off the bone' they're always gnawing. If a dwarf says, "I smell somethin' awful!", the reply is simply, "You certainly do!" and nothing more.

4. Water? For Drinking? Seriously?

Well, JFK, he is technically correct -- water brewed into coffee comes in handy when there's a last-minute switch that puts you on watch right after finishing your third ale keg. '<img'>

Otherwise, I'd say you're right on target!

Why would they change names ? People with a history at the old place wouldn't want to throw it away.

I changed my name (I was tdonadio on the old Bioware forums). The reason is simple: I'd wanted to do it for years, because I've used the handle "Andarian" ever since I started releasing mods in 2006. Maximus agreed to retire my old tdonadio account on the Vault and let me create Andarian, but switching over on the old Bioware forums was problematic. That was because someone had actually created an "Andarian" account on them back in Feb. 2002 that they basically never used (4 total posts, all archived long ago).

As it turns out, that even made it problematic on the new BSN, which was first unveiled at the DA Builder's Event last summer. As a participant there, mine was one of the first two dozen or so accounts created. The BSN was very primitive at the time, and it was at least initially set up to import all of the names from the old Bioware forums. Unfortunately that meant that when I went to create my new "Andarian" account, the same unused name from the old forums was still there to prevent it. So I had to settle for "AndarianTD," which to be honest I actually rather dislike -- though at least now it recognizably includes my builder's handle. Chris Priestly was looking into seeing whether "Andarian" could be freed up for me and my account name could be switched over, but unfortunately it looks like nothing ever came of that.

Someone tried to take my name.  I killed him and hid the body under the floor boards of the old NWN toolset forum.

I changed my name. Look at my sig and see if you recognize it. On the old forums I was closing in on (hard to believe) 30,000 posts. I don't feel I've left anything behind or thrown anything away. It's all still there under my other name.

LOL!   I was thinking that they only counted posts on the main forums and not the guild forums, but they must have, though i checked my account and it felt like i posted alot more than the 1300 or so they tagged me at.  30,000!  Its all good though as many of the posts were rebutts to morons who questioned your numbers or your wisdom!  '<img'>

Someone jacked my old name so I just put a 0 at the end. You guys probably don't remember me, I only swing by every year or so to have a walk down memory lane.

I no longer exist... I'm but a figment of your imagination... an undigested bit of stew in your stomach causing a bad dream.
