Can anyone tell me if the Diamond Edition is fully patched. If not what patch do I need.
Thanks

               Diamond is 1.66.  You'll need v1.69.

I suggest skipping the updater and DLing the Critical Rebuild for the Windows English version here

Mac & Linux use a different patch if are running either OS.

Cheers!

I think they should make a sticky at the top of these forums, telling new players how to patch their game, that's definitely a give in...

Good post.  Just so you know what you're DLing/looking for for future reference, it is the 1.69 patch for Hordes of the Underdark (HotU) which is the latest version for the latest expansion which is included in the Diamond version.

Diamond = NWN + Shadows of Undrentide + Hordes of Underdark

Sorry it took so long to respond, my wife has been sick.

Are you saying I only need the 1.69 patch to play HotU.

Or should I download it regardless. I'm going to play the original game 1st.

Also does it matter which of the expansion packs I play first.

And what are these Kingmaker, ShadowGuard and Witch's Wake?

Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm kinda new at this. Started playing RPG PC games after I retired

You don't need 1.69 to play HotU.  However, if you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, the game will not launch without it.  There is also the added benefit of not having to play with your disc inside your drive.

Kingmaker, Shadowguard and Witch's Wake were premium modules, though I think Witch's Wake started out as a community module that got vamped up a bit and then re-released as premium, it's been a while.

Chiefsonny, you don't have to patch, but it's recommended, as you'll get a lot of bug fixes and some new content. Best thing  to do is what HipMaestro suggested.

As for which to play first, I'd recommend the original NWN. SoU is intended to start again with a new level 1 character and HotU is written to be an extension of SoU.

The three modules are short stand-alone adventures, meant for new level 1 characters.

Ok, I know I'm being a pain, but another question please

My ver. is 1.66. I see there is a ver I.68 and I.69

Do I need to load them both, or will 1.69 give me the fixes that are in 1.68

Again, forgive a old fool his dumb questions

Chiefsonny, the only dumb questions are the ones not asked. Feel free to ask if anything else crops up. Hope you get your game running, and enjoy!

Hi '<img'>
Even tho you may play NWN first, you should install both expansion packs and get the 1.69 for HoTU before you start playing. They add extra features and classes etc and this way you only have to patch it once.

Have fun '<img'>
